Nancy's heart was pounding like a drum solo at a rock concert, and when she turned around, there was Cyrus, striding into the room like a storm about to break.

Cyrus' face was dark and stormy, but Nancy didn't back down. Instead, her voice dripped with sarcasm, "Oh, so you finally brought Hayley home? I thought you'd forgotten this place was your home, too."

Cyrus seemed to ignore the sharpness of Nancy's tone, his anger flaring up like a bonfire. "And do you still remember this is your home? That you, Nancy, are still my wife?"

When facing Cyrus' aggressive stance, Nancy couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh. "Really? You could've fooled me. It seems you're the one who's forgotten."

Oh, the irony. Cyrus had found a new flame, yet he acted like the victim.

Cyrus' face turned an even uglier shade of red, "Nancy, how did you come back here? Do I need to remind you?"

Genuinely angry, Nancy retorted, "What's that supposed to mean, Cyrus? Make yourself clear!"

It was as if he was accusing her of being unfaithful.

Cyrus' face hardened, his voice turning ice cold, "Seriously? Do you want me to spell it out? Caleb never called you to come over. So why were you at the police station, even bumping into Baldrick?"

With that, Cyrus grabbed Nancy's wrist, pulling her close to him.

Confronted with Cyrus's icy stare, Nancy let out a frustrated laugh. "So, you think I was having a secret meeting with Baldrick at the police station?"

It was absurd. Nancy never had feelings for Baldrick despite his confessions in their school days.

"Isn't that the case? Even if you weren't meeting there, you must have planned to bump into each other and then go on a date!" Cyrus was almost seething with rage.

It was Molly, Nancy's assistant at her studio, on the line.

Nancy breathed a sigh of relief since it wasn't Alexis. Closing the studio had been a recent decision because she was leaving anyway. Why keep it open?

Overhearing the conversation, Cyrus furrowed his brows. Nancy had closed her studio. Why? She had refused to do so when he had suggested it.

After a brief exchange with Molly, where Nancy brushed off questions about her following plans with vague promises of starting something bigger later, Cyrus got more questions than answers.

Hearing the assistant's teasing remarks about Nancy leaving to start a family and Nancy's non-denial, Cyrus felt his heart skip a beat.

Was Nancy considering having a child with him? The thought sent a rush of emotions through him, a mix of hope and fear, as he tried to grasp the implications.
