Chapter 109
“Sana, just go,” Gabriela came and told Sana to leave first, then went over and gently patted Jessica’s back.
Sana wanted to show more concern for her idol, but she wasn’t close enough to Jessica to care about her personal affairs.
After rinsing her mouth, Jessica’s face turned slightly pale due to severe nausea.
Gabriela said worriedly, “Jessi, how about I take you to the hospital?”
Jessica had no color on her face and looked frighteningly pale. She really hadn’t gone for a pregnancy check for some days, so she nodded, yet still had
some concerns.
“I’ll make an appointment with the doctor in the next couple of days,” Jessica said.
“Okay,” Gabriela nodded and said, “Call me when the time comes. I’ll go with you.”
“All right.” Jessica didn’t refuse. Although Gabriela was also busy, she had no reason to reject her best friend’s concern.
Gabriela said, “Jessi, is there anything you want to eat? I’ll ask someone to buy it.”
Jessica shook her head. Before, when dealing with the divorce, she didn’t pay attention to the discomfort, and now she really had no appetite.
Sometimes she really wanted to eat something, but if she didn’t get it within a few minutes, even if the food was brought to her later, she still didn’t have
an appetite.
Jessica felt that this pregnancy was much harder than the first one. When she was pregnant with Jacob, she had a big appetite, and everything tasted good. She was a bit in a trance and couldn’t help recalling the past.
Gabriela took her back, and Jessica came back to herself from the memories.
Jessica frowned and then relaxed. She thought, ‘Maybe I’m just too tired.
When she got back to the office, Sana asked her some more questions. Jessica could feel Sana secretly looking at her stomach and the expression of wanting to care about her, but holding back. Jessica just pretended not to notice.
After dealing with nearly two hours of work at Atkinson Group, Brian instinctively reached out to the side. There was always a cup of coffee there, and the secretary would come in and replace it with a new one every hour.
When Jessica was in the company before, she usually prepared it for him.
Brian didn’t raise his head. He skillfully picked up the drink and brought it to his mouth. However, this time, instead of coffee, he drank the ginger drink with honey. That was Jessica’s secret recipe.
That was specially made for Brian by Jessica after she knew his stomach wasn’t good.
The sweet ginger drink with honey stunned Brian. He instinctively tried to find Jessica’s figure in the office, thinking she had come back.
“Jessica?” He called out. Although he thought it was impossible to find her here, he still held a glimmer of hope in his heart.
Just as he was about to get up and look for her there was a knock on the door.
“Come in.” Brian’s voice was a bit urgent, but the person who came in wasn’t the one he was thinking of.
“Mr. Atkinson.” Madeline stepped in gracefully in high heels, holding a folder in her hand and looking energetic.
