“No.” Brian put down the cup and didn’t ask any more questions. Then Madeline put down the folder and left.

Madeline knew she couldn’t be too hasty. When Brian got used to her presence, it would be time for her to replace Jessica.

She went back to her office and chatted with Jacob for a while.

Jacob’s words revealed the hope that since Madeline was an adult, she surely could come up with a way to coax Jessica back.

Madeline almost laughed out loud and thought Jacob was too naive.

Madeline showed a proud look and posted some photos on Instagram that only Jessica could see. They were photos of the ginger drink she made for

Brian.

She had just seen that there was only one sip left of the ginger drink that Brian had drunk. This showed that Jessica could be easily replaced by someone

else.

When Jessica heard the phone notification sound, she didn’t even bother to click and take a look. After explaining some follow–up matters to Sana, she hurried back to Grant Group.

The day of the exhibition was getting closer, and she had a lot of work to rush through recently.

At noon, Dereck came to bring Jessica food and helped her deal with work. They didn’t know that Jessica was busy in both companies and thought she

was resting in the morning.

“Before I came, your mom told me to make sure you drink at least a bowl of chicken soup,” Dereck raised his eyebrows and said as he looked at the chicken soup that Jessica only took two sips of and then stopped drinking.

Stella was afraid that Jessica would find the chicken soup too greasy, so she specially removed the oil from the soup, and the soup was as clear as water.

Jessica frowned slightly. She knew her parents cared about her, so she drank most of the bowl of soup in one gulp.

“Good, drink more–” Before Dereck could finish his words, Jessica got up and ran into the bathroom and vomited again, even bringing up the food she

had just eaten.

“Jessi! It’s all my fault.” Dereck was shocked. The words he said to Jessica to let her drink the soup were just made up.

Stella’s words were to ask him to coax Jessica to eat more and call back if she wanted something, and the servant would cook it and send it over.

Jessica was driven to the sofa. As soon as she lay down reluctantly, she yawned.

Dereck took out the folder. He was about to tell Jessica that she must take a rest at noon every day. When he turned around, he saw that Jessica had fallen asleep.
