I stood up and cursed softly, all this time she was right under my nose, for three years she had been right there, while I was striving to forget about her. What I needed was to see her once small, maybe then I could find the courage to let go. I looked at the file and swallowed hard, she was still fucking sexy, and more handsome than ever. I hated and needed her at the same time.
"Tell the driver to prepare my car. I'm going to the office today, you and Ralph are coming with me. Also, call my hair and makeup stylist, oh one more thing. When we go there, my name will no longer be Miss Robinson, but Mrs. Robinson, am I clear?" I asked.
"Yes," she answered then walked out.
I looked at the file that had her picture and pressed it to my lips as I closed my eyes.
"Leo," I whispered softly.
I shivered slightly when I thought about the past. She still had a great effect on me despite her not being here.
I put the file on my table and went in my bathroom to shower, after finishing. I dried myself and picked up my clothes. I didn't want to be over dressed and embarrass myself in front of her, so I picked up a simple formal attire and dressed up. I then picked up my black heels from my hundred collections and wore them then went to the living room where I found my stylist waiting.
I sat on the couch and let her work wonders on me. I told her I wanted to look twice as beautiful as I was.
She smiled politely and nodded when she finished dolling me up, she left. I went out and found my car ready, I got in and sat with a deep breath, the car drove off with Ralph and the secretary behind me in another car.
Soon we reached the company. I walked to the elevator ignoring the whispers, Ralph removed the shades and gave them to me.
"Maybe this will put down the whispers," he said softly.
I shook my head and got them.
I stepped in the elevator with him while putting on the shades, luckily it was afternoon.
Ralph was so sweet and kind to me, if I had never met Leo maybe, just maybe, I could have chosen him.
When the door opened, the first thing I set my eyes on was Leo facing the ground, my knees became weak and my breathing hitched.
"Juli you are no longer a teenager, you are now a grown-up woman who is independent and strong." I told myself silently then stepped forward from the elevator.
I stood still as she slowly trailed her eyes upon my body.
"Be strong, " I whispered to myself again, her eyes went to my upper part.
when she lifted her eyes and looked at my face, she took in a sharp breath.
"Did she recognize me?" I asked myself silently.
"Welcome Miss Robinson," she said with a smile while extending her hand to me, the joy I had once experience faded just like that.
How could she remember me when I was only just a fling to her, I didn't need to cower, I was stronger than then.
