"Mr. Copley, is Mr. Killian's condition so serious that he's in the ICU? Don't tell me I'm seeing him for the last time." Felix's heart was in his mouth as he walked after Douglas.

Douglas found Felix funny. "No. Bernard's injury isn't that bad. He's waiting for Ms. Youngworth to wake up."

"She's hurt?" Felix was very much surprised to hear that.

"Yes. I'll tell you about it once we're in the ward."

When they reached Bernard's ward, Douglas knocked on the door, and they entered the ward.

Bernard lay on the bed with an adjustable overbed table in front of him. His laptop was placed on the table, and he was staring at the screen.

It showed the results of his search, "Sweetie". He discovered that he had once chatted with a WhatsApp account he named "Sweetie" years back.

The chat history was limited, but from what he gathered, he could guess his relationship with the person. It wasn't a one-night stand thing, nor were the two of them just boyfriend and girlfriend. Back then, he even wanted to marry her!

Bernard's heart sank realizing that they were so close in the past. She was so dear to him, so why did he forget her?

She finally came back to him after so long, yet he spoke so harshly to her and treated her so badly.

"I bought 12 boxes of condoms with that 100 dollars, totaling up to 211 condoms with extras. You know how many we've used these past two days.

"You started it. You don't have a say in this before I get sick of you!

Ever since Felix took over the case from his mentor, Bernard never took the initiative to see Felix. When it was time for a follow-up, Felix always had to nag and remind Bernard about it.

Bernard was the most troublesome patient Felix had ever had.

"If you don't tell me something, this will be the last time you're seeing me," said Bernard coldly, shutting the laptop.

Felix sensed the danger in that voice. Things were serious this time. He took his medical equipment from his assistant and did a simple check-up on Bernard.

"Has my condition worsened?" Bernard asked after a moment.

Felix checked the stats on the screen of the equipment before replying, "No. You're doing great. You've basically recovered now."

Bernard's next sentence caught Felix by surprise. "Then why can't I remember what happened between me and Hera back then?"
