Bernard fell silent, leaving Gideon at a loss for how to criticize him further.

Meanwhile, Mildred couldn't help but laugh. "Getting married is inevitable! The kids are already old enough, after all. But before we rush into that, we should eat. We don't want to starve my granddaughter and great-grandchildren, do we?"
