Meanwhile backstage, Chandler was cheering up the racer about to start their race. "This is it, time to show off the results of your two years' worth of training. Good luck out there, I'm looking forward to your race."
The racer nodded his head. "Don't worry, Mr. Chandler. I'll do my best!"
The man was Max Islington, Choloot's one and only representative in the championship. He was a racer privately supported by Chandler himself.
"Max Islington of Group Four, get ready!" the staff announced.
Max stood up and waved at Chandler before leaving to take on the stage. Chandler then left to look for his seat in section A.
He quickly recognized someone familiar right after he sat down. Hailey was three rows away, right in front of him. He was surprised as he never expected to see her here.
Chandler smiled. He decided not to think much about it and just focus on enjoying the competition.
"That's him, Number Six, Max Islington! Our one and only Choloot brethren in the race!" shouted Taylor, which caused Chandler to notice him.
Chandler was shocked by so many coincidences happening in one place.
He was confused as to why Hailey and Taylor were sitting together.
Chandler thought that the two of them wouldn't have been acquainted with one another, as one of them resided in Furine, while the other resided in Aguilisco. But from the look of things, it seemed obvious enough that the two of them were good friends.
Helen chuckled. "How about we make a bet, dear Taylor?"
Taylor was hesitant as he had never once won any bet with Helen. "What do you want to bet on, Helen?"
"Since we're here to watch the championship, I might as well bet on who's gonna be the champion," she replied.
"Show me some mercy, Helen! You know that I've never once won any bets with you. I'm gonna lose my pride if this losing streak keeps on piling up!" Taylor whined.
Helen laughed out loud. "Alright, alright. It's nothing big, how about we just have the loser of the bet treat the other to a good meal?"
