Ignoring Chandler, Helen deliberately inserted the needle at a deflected angle and increased her strength. The pain intensified, causing him to hiss and gasp.
Once he shut up, she removed the needle and inserted it two inches to the side.
Chandler was rendered speechless. This young lady was unable to hold her temper. She had to vent her anger even when he was injured.
"Now we are even," he joked.
"You nearly died, but that didn't seem to stop your sweet talking," Helen mocked him, but she carried on with the acupuncture treatment.
"I won't die with you around." Chandler chuckled.
Helen paused and looked up at him, "Are you getting married with me so that you can have a free personal doctor with good medical skills?"
"Am I that calculating in your eyes?" Chandler asked, frowning. "You carry my heart. As long as you are well, I won't let myself die."
Helen shook her head. "You're so good at sweet talking. Mr. Newton, I suspect that your past is not as innocent as you claim it is."
"I swear." Chandler raised his right hand and held up three fingers. "I'm a natural when it comes to you."
"Save it." Helen pulled him over when he swore and pricked him on his middle finger, asking, "When did you realize that I installed the software?"
"When you were fiddling with my phone." Chandler was a little proud. "You didn't realize how much I value you. You always have my attention, future Mrs. Newton."
Helen no longer responded to him as he wasn't exaggerating. When they were together, she would meet his passionate eyes everytime she looked up.
An hour later, she came down from the second floor and tucked a piece of paper into Carles' hand.
"Buy the things on the list from the black market. Be fast."
"Who said so?" Helen asked.
"I know I have to avoid spicy food, avoid stimulation, and move less because of the wound. It's okay to drink a little," Chandler said confidently.
"Are you a doctor?" Helen secretly pricked herself with a needle and instantly regained her vitality.
She then walked over to snatch the beer from him and stared at him, her tone serious. "From today onward, you need to rest. No temper flares, no heavy-flavored food, no smoking, no staying up late, and lastly, no drinking."
Chandler frowned. "That sounds like a life for the retired elderly."
"Exactly," Helen said seriously, "How else do you think Grandma can survive the toxin until now?"
"Alright." Chandler stopped resisting. He deserved the punishment for upsetting Helen.
