“So, today General Garbisch went to the palace to see the King for this?” Waldo’s voice turned icy. “Jessica, how many more things are there that I don’t

know?”

He expected her to explain, but instead, she just smiled faintly and replied, “There’s a lot you don’t know, Your Highness.”

“Jessica!”

“Do you think she really wants to break the engagement with you?” Priscilla sneered, incredulous. She thought, ‘How could anyone be like Jessica, indifferent to fame and fortune?

“Women are so shallow! If Jessica doesn’t care about those things, why isn’t she crying or making a scene when the man she loves suddenly has another woman by his side?
