“Metheil Waldo felt a chill run down his spine at that simile he rarely saw Consort Adele smile like that. The last time he had seen it was when she had smiled while overseeing the precution of an old maid who had served her for many years.

He quickly tried to explain. “Mother, Priscilla isn’t a bad person. She’s just young and doesn’t fully understand everything

“Waldo, are you really going to bow down to her? Priscilla, who had been so proud moments ago, suddenly looked furious, her face contorted with

anger.

She understood well the power and status of Consort Adele and knew that defying her would not end well. But what she wanted was Waldo’s true heart This was her opportunity to test whether he was truly sincere about her,

If he didn’t protect her now, she would have no position in the future. She wasn’t naive–she was just taking a gamble

But Consort Adele had lost all patience.

“Guards!” She barked, and two guards immediately rushed into the room. “Take her away and give her thirty lashes!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!” The guards quickly moved toward Priscilla

“Mother!” Waldo tried to stop them.

Consort Adele’s eyes turned icy, and a cruel glint flickered in her gaze. “Do you want me to punish her, or do you want me to have her executed?”

Waldo froze, his body stiffening.

The guards had already grabbed Priscilla.

Furious, Priscilla struck out with all her strength, slapping one of the guards.

But her shoulder had been injured earlier, and she couldn’t channel her energy properly. The strike was weak, and she was quickly overpowered and dragged off the bed.

“Waldo!” As they dragged her away, Priscilla turned back, her eyes wide with disbelief. “Is this what you call protecting me?”

“Priscilla..

“If you want her to stay in the Waldo House, you’d better make her behave! Consort Adele snapped.

Waldo sighed in resignation, his gaze dropping to the ground as he refused to look at Priscilla.

Priscilla never expected the punishment to actually fall upon her. Each blow felt like it was crushing her, each strike bringing searing pain.

At first, she gritted her teeth and tried to bear it, refusing to make a sound.

But after several lashes, she couldn’t take it anymore. Her cries turned into desperate screams, and soon she was sobbing uncontrollably “Waldo, Waldo. Ah! Ah… Waldo, help me… ah…

Inside the room, Waldo was on edge. He wanted to rush out and stop it, but with Consort Adele there, he couldn’t bring himself to take a stop. Meanwhile, Consort Adele remained calm, sipping the coffee that Selma had handed her, completely unaffected by the screams coming from outside.
