“Jessica…” Waldo reached out, but his hand froze mid–air as he suddenly realized how far away she truly was.

Right there before him, yet it felt like no matter what he did, he could never truly reach her.

“Jessica…” Waldo whispered, his voice trembling with longing and helplessness.

“If you value your life, Your Highness, you’d better shut up and save your breath,” Jessica said, her back still to him. With a swift sweep of her spear, a chilling aura forced the black wolves back two steps.

Hughie was stunned. ‘She turned out to b

warrior!‘ he thought, unable to hide his awe.

Hughie was utterly stunned.

Waldo stood frozen for a moment, then a cold dread washed over him.

He realized he had never truly known Jessica at all.

He thought, ‘I never truly knew you before… But now, is there still a chance for us to start over?‘

Yet Jessica didn’t even spare him a glance.

Though the wolf pack had been forced back, she knew only too well the savagery of these black wolves. Their retreat was just a ploy to buy time and size up their foe.

Biding their time, they would wait for the perfect moment to swarm in as one and tear their prey to pieces.

Jessica suddenly raised her spear and fired a signal arrow, which exploded in mid–air with a resounding bang.

“Protect your Highness!” she commanded.

No sooner had Jessica finished speaking than the black wolves sprang into action, several lunging at her simultaneously.

“Jessica, watch out!” Waldo struggled to rise, but his frantic concern sent his energy surging violently, a mouthful of blood gushed from his lips.

Jessica completely ignored him. With a swift flick of her spear, she sent a black wolf flying through the air.

Her slender figure leaped into the air. The wolves immediately surged beneath her, positioning themselves to tear her apart the moment she landed!

A fresh wave of panic surged through Waldo.

Waldo thought anxiously, ‘Judging by this, Jessica’s agility technique is far superior to mine. But no matter how skilled she is, she can’t stay airborne indefinitely. Eventually, she’ll have to come down.

‘When the wolves swarm her, what can she possibly do?‘

“Hughie, go help her, now!” Waldo shouted. By this point, the black wolves had clearly identified Jessica as their real threat, completely ignoring Waldo and Hughie.

Wolves were cunning by nature, especially this pack of black ones. They seemed to instinctively understand that if they could take down their main opponent, the other two would be no threat at all.

Hughie gripped his longsword and attempted to rush to Jessica’s aid, but the outermost black wolf suddenly pounced on him, sending him sta back.

No sooner had Hughie stepped back than another black wolf lunged straight for Waldo, baring its fangs.

Hughie dared not move an inch.

These damn beasts are too cunning!‘ Waldo thought in frustration.

Waldo was frantic with worry.

To everyone’s astonishment, Jessica didn’t need to find footing at all. With a mid–air somersault, she dove spear–first toward the wolves below.

With a tremendous surge of her energy, she sent multiple black wolves flying through the air. They crashed heavily onto the ground, their limbs twitching helplessly as they struggled in vain to rise.

Once again, the wolf pack shrank back a few steps, intimidated by her display of power.
