Jessica explained, “He has been taking his medication all along. Maybe he managed to avoid the worst of it back then, so his injuries weren’t too serious. But since he’s a man, it’s not really proper for me to check on him or ask too many questions when administering his treatment.”

Jessica helped Leanna pack up her belongings.

There wasn’t much to pack, just a few simple things.

After they left the cottage and got into the carriage, Jessica finally said with a hint of helplessness, “But this kind of injury is ultimately hard to treat. The medicine I’m giving him now can only help maintain his vitality and keep his spirits up.”

“Is there really no way?” Leanna asked, her heart heavy with worry one

Jessica said softly, “I can’t help for now, but Fawn is a legendary healer.

Fawn can take a good look at him.”

“Fawn?” Leanna asked.

But at least Leanna now had a glimmer of hope, and her spirits finally began to lift.

Jessica brought Leanna back to the Yates family estate, heading straight to Luminous Pavilion, where Dayton had lived.

Leanna hadn’t set foot in this courtyard since her last visit.

The moment she walked in again, her eyes grew moist.

Jessica said warmly, “Leanna, this is your home now. If you need anything, just let the maids know, they’ll inform Ted, and he’ll see to it.”

Jessica arranged two personal maids for Leanna, along with a dedicated cook, a gardener, and a cleaning servant.

Apart from the cook and the maids, the gardener and cleaning servant had already been working in this courtyard.

Jessica pointed down the path and said warmly, “If you follow this road, you’ll soon reach Star Pavilion, where Karlie lives. She’s been living a reclusive life for years, and I haven’t had much time to keep her company. Now that you’re here, it’s perfect timing.”

She gestured toward the pavilion and added with a smile, “Leanna, if you ever feel bored, you can visit Karlie for a chat or to practice martial arts together. She’s a straightforward and warm–hearted warrior, I’m sure you two will get along very well.”

Leanna responded cheerfully, “Great! I’ll drop by her place often for a chat.”

Just as they mentioned Karlie, she showed up herself, carrying

large boxes packed to the brim.

“Leanna,” Karlie said apologetically, “I was so busy getting things ready today that I didn’t have time to welcome you properly. Please don’t be upset with me, I really didn’t mean to neglect you!”

Though they hadn’t known each other long, fighting side by side at the hunting event forged a deep bond between them.

Karlie had the two boxes set down and eagerly turned to Leanna. “Leanna, look, these are all outfits and fabric. There should be enough here for your daily wear, but since I wasn’t sure what styles you like, I’ve brought plenty of fabric as well. You can have them made into whatever you like, at your own leisure.

“And these things are from my personal collection over the years. I certainly didn’t just grab them from the storeroom, you know!” she added, turning to Jessica with a playful glance.

Jessica simply shook her head with a smile and said nothing.
