“I’ve decided never to marry, Garbisch, so quit your nosy questions,” she said firmly, “When Leon and I were attacked by black wolves, he could’ve escaped unharmed with his skills. But he mistakenly thought I was helpless and insisted on protecting me. That’s how he got wounded…”

“Jessica,” Garbisch said, “he meant well. Don’t just brush it off like it’s nothing.”

Still, no one had expected Jessica to be such a skilled fighter. People weren’t used to seeing her as a skilled warrior, so when they see her delicate appearance, it was only natural they wanted to protect her.

Jessica merely smiled, offering no comment.

She asked, “Why do you say he’s upset?”
