Chapter 79
“I won’t leave.”
Jason didn’t leave, standing outside the house.
The weather was cold, with a mix of rain and snow falling. He stood outside waiting for Anastasia to open the door.
Anastasia stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at Jason standing outside the yard. She raised her hand and put it on the glass, gritting her teeth tightly.
“Why did he suddenly appear again?”
She fell into deep thought.
The sky was cloudy and frightening, and the sound of firecrackers continued to echo in bursts.
Anastasia looked at the fireworks exploding in the dim sky, and her eyes stagnated.
Anastasia mused. Think about it carefully. The four years of marrying Alastor and every Christmas seemed to be a business-oriented life.
We would go to the Lopez residence on Christmas Day and have a family dinner together.
There was nothing romantic or sense of ceremony
Anastasia laughed ironically and threw the bowl of pesto pasta on the table into the trash bin.
She felt disgusted.
A bright light flashed across the sky, and the fireworks exploded.
Anastasia looked out subconsciously. The fireworks were being set off right outside her yard.
It was Jason.
Anastasia hurried to the window and looked up at the fireworks exploding overhead.
“So beautiful!TM
“Anastasia, do you know why the fireworks are beautiful? Because they disappeared quickly, leaving only a moment of colorfulness” Six years ago, before Jace disappeared, he left an oil painting for Anastasia.
It was the fireworks.
“It’s snowing.” Anastasia’s voice was hoarse as she opened the door for Jason.
Jason didn’t enter the yard. He put a lit sparkler in Anastasia’s hand and then wrapped his scarf around her neck.
“You’re crazy… Anastasia said, her voice choking
“Anastasia, I’ve been there all the time and never disappeared.” Jason wanted to tell her that he had never disappeared. “Jason, you said that the fireworks are beautiful because they disappeared quickly, leaving only a moment of colorfulness.” Anastasia said sarcastically. “Since you’ve disappeared, then you should never come back.”
Looking at Anastasia, Jason felt pain in his heart..
“She’s too skinny”
“Go take a hot shower. Don’t catch a cold.” Anastasia motioned Jason to come in, providing him with a new bath towel. She wanted to find Alastor’s clothes for him to change into, but she realized that Alastor had already taken all his things away.
“It turns out that this house was already empty”
“Can I stay overnight?” Jason asked Anastasia.
“This isn’t my home… Anastasia said in a hoarse voice.
“Can you come home with me then?” Jason looked at her with an intense gaze. “Anastasia… I can give you a home now.” Anastasia looked at Jason and shook her head. “Jason, it’s too late.”
