Chapter 83

Jason parked the car at Hillscester Mansion.

Only when the car came to a stop did Anastasia look in shock at the mansion.

“Isn’t this the high-end luxury home Jason showed me that day?” she thought to herself. “You rented this place?” she asked

him.

Was he crazy or out of his mind: “How much is the monthly rent here?”

Seeing Anastasia startled, Jason chuckled. “Didn’t I tell you? My friend asked me to help him design this place. He’s abroad and won’t be back for a while. The house isn’t safe if it’s vacant, and instead of charging him for design work, I get to live here for free.”

Anastasia sighed in relief. “You scared me.”

For a house like this, let alone buying, even renting would cost tens of thousands of dollars per month.

Jason got out of the car, opened the door for Anastasia, and held an umbrella to escort her inside.

“Your coat… Anastasia noticed that Jason was only wearing a loose undershirt and damp pants, as his soaked coat was still in her dryer.

“You can pick it up tomorrow. Aren’t you moving out?” Jason deliberately left his coat behind.

“Yeah, tonight I’ll look for a place Anastasia nodded.

Jason cleared his throat. “What’s your budget for renting a house?”

Anastasia pondered “With my reputation tarnished, my paintings won’t likely sell well. So, I’m looking for a place a bit farther from the city center”

“Well, how about we share the rent?’ Jason looked at Anastasia carnestly.

For a moment, Anastasia felt like Jason’s sly fox tail was about to wag with excitement.

“Share the rent with you?” Anastasia squinted. I can’t afford a place like this that you have.”

“My friend won’t be back for a year or two. It’s a waste for me to live here alone, and I don’t trust renting it out to someone else. If you pay me 400 dollars a month for rent… It’ll work, Jason said seriously. “This way. It lightens my burden a bit.”

Anastasia glanced at the mansion’s surroundings.

Looking at this place, she thought that 400 dollars a month probably wouldn’t even get her a bathroom here.

“If you’re worried about burdening me and don’t want to live together. I can find my own place. It’s a waste for me to live here, and you can stay on your own,” Jason worried that landlords would make things difficult for Anastasia if she rented a place elsewhere.

Anastasia sighed in resignation. “I can help share the burden of the rent, I’ll pay you 1,000 dollars a month, but I have a condition”

This was an upscale neighborhood, almost inaccessible to reporters and random passersby. Thus, no one would notice she and Jason living in the same house. So, the security level here satisfied Anastasia.

Plus, the house was surrounded by a lake view and had a serene environment, which was perfect for her to focus on her work.

Time was running out, and she needed to leave behind some of her creations.

“Just tell me!” Jason nodded.

“No interference in each other’s personal lives, and no entanglements between us.” Anastasia reminded Jason not to do anything foolish for her sake.

“Anastasia, we’re already too intertwined… Jason looked somewhat innocent and pulled out his phone, showing it to

Anastasia.
