Charlotte had a premonition and subconsciously didn’t want him to see Ava! 

She calmed herself down and said to Ava, “Grandma, I’m going to the bathroom.”

Ava saw some people gathering and chatting at a little distance and immediately asked Pete to wheel her over. 

Charlotte strode up to Arthur, seized him by the arm, and led him out.
