Mason wheeled himself over, and his face darkened with anger when he saw Sarah’s pitiful state. “What the hell is going on 

here?” 

He asked Arthur, “Why are you treating Sarah like this?” 

Arthur pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, his almond–shaped eyes narrowing as he spoke coolly, “So you helped her escape?” 

Mason pressed his lips together and admitted it immediately, “Yes. That man is bad news. I couldn’t stand by and watch Tiffany’s sister ruin her life. Arthur, Tiffany…” 

“Tiffany has been dead for five years. How long are you going to carry this guilt?” Arthur cut him off harshly. “If you feel bad about Tiffany, be good to her parents. Sarah isn’t a Miller anymore. She’s a Hardwick now. She has nothing to do with Tiffany. Why do you keep meddling in her business?”

Mason wanted to argue but realized Arthur had a point!

Mason’s resolve wavered. He looked at Arthur and said, “She hasn’t done anything wrong, so maybe you shouldn’t…” 

“She drugged me five years ago, and now she tried to kill an innocent old woman. Do you call that doing nothing wrong? Do we have to wait until someone dies to call it a mistake?” Arthur cut him off coldly. 

Mason was left speechless. 

“I’ll spare her life, but she’ll pay for what she’s done,” Arthur said in his deep, attractive voice, though his tone remained ice–cold. 

As soon as he finished speaking, Jacob lowered the chair. 

“Ah!” Sarah screamed in agony. 

She desperately tried to dodge, but two bodyguards held her firmly in place, leaving her nowhere to escape.
