Chapter 326 Something Fishy 

Sarah jumped down from the makeshift stage, glaring at them with obvious annoyance. “Who said you could come in? I only invited Arthur.” 

She turned to Arthur, who hadn’t said a word and stepped closer. “Arthur, did you like my dance?” 

“Sarah, do you have a death wish?” 

Arthur’s first words sent chills down everyone’s spine. Sarah actually flinched. 

“Didn’t I warn you?” Arthur said slowly, his voice deadly calm. “Or did you think my warnings were just empty threats?” 

Sarah looked terrified. She shook her head frantically. “No, that’s not it. I wasn’t trying to trick you, Arthur. This is my family reunion banquet today. Why didn’t you come? I sent you an invitation. How could you just not show up?” 

“You seem to be confused about something.” Arthur’s eyes were ice–cold as he looked at her, a mocking smile crossing his face. “Now that you’re a Hardwick, why would I need to look after you anymore?” 

Sarah’s face went ghost pale at his words.

“Arthur, I’m sorry. I know I messed up,” Sarah pleaded, desperately trying to earn his forgiveness. 

Meanwhile, Evie’s brows furrowed as she leaned in close to Charlotte’s ear. “Something feels off here.” 

Charlotte had noticed it, too. Arthur was clearly fed up with Sarah. And from their conversation, it seemed like there was more to the story. 

“You think there’s something going on that we don’t know about?” Evie mused, rubbing her chin thoughtfully. 

Charlotte’s eyes dropped to the floor. “I couldn’t care less.” 

With that, she turned to leave. 

“Hey, Lottie, wait up! I’m not done watching this drama unfold,” Evie called out, slightly exasperated. Would it kill her to stick around until things played out? 

“Charlotte!” A furious shout suddenly rang out from upstairs. 

Camille came storming down, making a beeline for Charlotte. She grabbed her arm, eyes blazing with anger. “You’ve got some nerve showing up here. Do you know what you’ve done today?

Charlotte was caught off guard by Camille’s sudden outburst. “What are you even talking about?” she asked with a bemused look.

But this time, her slap didn’t connect. 

Charlotte caught her wrist, her eyes turning cold. She shoved Camille’s hand away. “Mrs. Hardwick, if you forgot to take your meds, deal with that. Don’t come here acting crazy. Just because you’re losing, it doesn’t mean I’m going to let you walk all over me.”
