Chapter 343 She Liked Arthur First 

The atmosphere in the VIP room had finally shifted to that of an adult gathering. 

Evie, holding a fizzing glass of alcohol, splashed it around with reckless abandon, a mischievous smile plastered across her face. Neither Charlotte nor Diana escaped her antics. 

Diana grabbed an orange and threw it at her, her face tinged with helplessness. “Enough! It’s Lottie who’s getting divorced, not you. Why are you so excited?” 

Evie caught the orange, peeled off a segment, and popped it in her mouth, grinning as she chewed. “My friend’s finally escaping her misery. Why can’t I be happy about that?” 

Diana wiped the foam from her face, looking disgusted. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were getting married.” 

“I’m never getting married!” Evie declared loudly. “Marriage is a grave. I’m living just fine, and I don’t want to head to a grave!” 

Diana felt helpless. 

Charlotte gave her a light tap. “Alright, have you had too much to drink? Let me help you sober up.” 

She pulled out a bottle of perfume and held it under Evie’s nose.

The girls were all enjoying themselves while Pete had resigned himself to playing the fruit–picking servant.

Diana took a sip of the juice and then frowned. “It’s too sour.” 

Pete seemed a little defeated. “How could it be? I’ve known her longer than Arthur.” 

“Well, then there is one thing you need to understand,” Diana said, her tone calm as she looked at Charlotte, who was playing with Evie. “She liked Arthur first. The person who falls in love first is always the one most likely to fall into the same trap
