Chapter 393 She’s Brought It on Herself 

Her wrists burned with pain, blood trickling from the cuts where the cuffs had scraped her skin. Her fists were clenched tight, and she glared at Arthur above her. 

Arthur’s lips curled into a smirk. “What, can’t handle it now? Charlotte, weren’t you the one who drugged me and sent Sarah to my room? Too bad for you—I have a wife. Why would I need someone else?” 

His thumb brushed over her swollen lips, grazing the wound he’d caused. His eyes darkened with anger. “Does it hurt? Well, you brought this on yourself.” 

With that, he crashed his lips against hers, kissing her fiercely, not allowing her to breathe. 

Charlotte’s eyes widened, disbelief written all over her face. She thought, “I drugged him? I sent Sarah to his room? What the hell is he talking about?” 

“No…” She shook her head, trying to deny it, but he wasn’t having it. He overpowered her, silencing any attempt to explain. 

Her legs went numb from the pain, leaving her helpless. She could do nothing but lie there, passive, as Arthur continued without mercy. The drug’s effects faded as the minutes dragged

on, but Arthur wasn’t finished. Charlotte passed out a few times. 

When the sun started to rise, Charlotte’s lips were swollen, her body marked with his, limp and broken on the bed. Unable to keep going, she finally lost consciousness. 

Arthur stood up and walked to the bathroom. Even though his body had been satisfied and relieved, the anger inside him still burned hot. 

Every time he thought about Charlotte drugging him and sending him to another woman, he was so furious he felt like tearing everything apart. 

He thought, “I have made up my mind, have worked hard to do the things I thought would make her like me. I’d even drafted the divorce papers. 

But she hates me so much–constantly thinking about how to get away from me, planning every moment to leave. I am not going to let her have her way.” 

When Arthur came back out, Charlotte was passed out, and his phone rang. He answered with a grim expression, “Hello?” 

Barrett’s voice was rough. “Arthur, things are spiraling out of control. Sarah’s threatening to kill herself, and Mason’s looking for you. What should we do?” 

Arthur’s gaze stayed fixed on Charlotte, who was still unconscious. His voice was low and cold, with no hint of 

warmth. “Let her die then. Send Mason back to the hospital-

he’s a patient, and right now, he needs rest more than anything.” He hung up without another word. 

Barrett was stunned. He thought, “Let Sarah die?” 

He looked at Gideon. “What should we do? Arthur just told us to 

let Sarah die.” 

Gideon chuckled darkly, “She’s brought it on herself.”
