Charlotte bit her lip and looked up at him, pale but defiant. “Arthur, you have no right to keep me here.”

Her face was drained of color, and her eyes, red–rimmed from exhaustion, burned with anger. She hadn’t eaten, hadn’t rested- her whole body seemed on the verge of collapse. 

Arthur loosened his tie and tossed it carelessly to the side. Without another word, he scooped her up in his arms. 

“What are you doing? Put me down!” Charlotte thrashed and twisted, fighting with all her strength, and in desperation, she sank her teeth into his shoulder. She bit down so hard that a sour ache spread through her jaw. 

But her struggle was futile. Arthur’s grip didn’t loosen–instead, he held her down even tighter, forcing her back against the bed. His kisses were fierce, almost aggressive, and in the same place. where she had bitten him, he retaliated by leaving a harsh bite of 

his own. 

Her teeth had drawn blood on his shoulder, but Arthur didn’t seem to care. Pain radiated through Charlotte, but Arthur still refused to let her go. Charlotte shivered uncontrollably, twisting and turning in vain, but all her resistance met with his overwhelming dominance.

Arthur thought bitterly, “Charlotte, you’re mine. You belong to me. No one else.” 

The night dragged on, heavy and oppressive. 

When it was finally over, Charlotte lay there motionless, utterly spent. Pain throbbed through her body, sharp and tearing, but her mind was elsewhere. Her empty gaze drifted to the window, where the night stretched endlessly, dark and suffocating. It felt like a bottomless abyss, pulling her in, threatening to swallow 

her whole.

Her lashes fluttered as she blinked, her throat dry and aching. “Arthur,” she rasped, her voice hoarse and broken, “how long are you planning to torment me like this?”
