Evie pressed her lips together, her expression deadly serious. “Madam Harrison, Arthur has Charlotte imprisoned at Rose Villa! He won’t let her leave, and we haven’t been able to reach her for days. I finally contacted her today, and she said you’re the only one to help her escape. Please, I’m begging you! Please help get Lottie out of there!”

words. She slammed her fist against the bed, triggering a violent coughing fit. 

“Get out now!” 

Bennett’s cold command cut through the air as he herded them from the room.

Mabel asked, puzzled, “Julius, where are you going?” 

“To save Mom!” 

Julius‘ voice was childish, but his tone carried unwavering determination. He quickly ran downstairs to find Jennifer. “Grandma, can you have someone drive me to Rose Villa?” 

Jennifer replied, “But it’s very late. You should be in bed.” 

Julius stood his ground firmly. “I need to find Mom and Dad. Grandma, you can’t stop me.”

Jennifer looked down at him, a flash of coldness crossing her eyes, but she quickly relented. “All right, I’ll have someone take you there. But your father probably won’t let you in. If he refuses, you’ll have to come back.” 

“Okay.”

She struggled to get up. “I can’t let him keep making these foolish mistakes. Charlotte is such a wonderful girl! If he drives her away with his cruel behavior, he’ll regret it for the rest of his life.”

Roxanne looked at him. “You’re willing to make the trip?” 

Bennett’s expression remained stern. “You’re not feeling well, so get some rest. At least I can give him a good thrashing, can you?” 

“Then make sure you give him an extra hard beating, enough to leave some marks!” Roxanne egged him on.
