Chapter 451 A Joke 

Over two days, Ava relentlessly drilled Sarah on being the perfect housewife. 

The training was brutal. From cooking meals that met Ava’s exacting standards to scrubbing every surface until it gleamed and waiting on her parents‘ hand and foot, Sarah got less than eight hours of sleep. 

When the wedding day finally arrived, Sarah felt a massive wave of relief. 

Thank god that old witch wouldn’t be breathing down her neck today!

Since Arthur had arranged the marriage, the wedding drew a considerable crowd. All of them showed up out of respect for him. 

Before dawn, the entire Hardwick family was bustling with activity. Stylists worked on Sarah’s makeup, but her haggard appearance was hard to conceal, even under layers of foundation. Staring at her reflection, her eyes were cold and filled with resentment. 

Camille and James bustled downstairs, preparing, while Sebastian went to the hotel to oversee the guests‘ arrival setup.

She remembered clearly how none of them had shown this much enthusiasm for Charlotte’s wedding! 

She sat regally on the sofa in her elegant white dress. No one dared say a word to her. 

The groom’s party arrived quickly. Henry was a short man who looked awkward in his ill–fitting suit, but he couldn’t care less. He grinned dopey as he rushed to sweep Sarah into his arms. 

Of course, he was over the moon! He’d landed a beautiful wife and a loaded new family. 

It was like winning the lottery! 

The banquet hall in the hotel gradually filled with guests, all with a mindset of watching the spectacle unfold. 

“That woman kept chasing after Mr. Harrison, acting all entitled because she was his ex–girlfriend. She bullied Mrs. Harrison so much. Look at her now! Mr. Harrison personally showed her the door.” 

“What’s the point? She’s a Hardwick heiress! She could have any guy she wants. Why keep hanging onto Mr. Harrison?” 

“Did you hear about what happened at the charity gala? She hooked up with a waiter right there in public. So embarrassing.” 

“I heard she threw herself at Mr. Harrison, but when he ignored

When Charlotte arrived, she found Sebastian greeting guests at the entrance. 

He was visibly startled when he saw her. “Lottie, what are you doing here?” 

Charlotte kept her expression neutral as she replied, “I’m here to see Grandma.” 

Sebastian’s face showed clear signs of exhaustion. “Lottie, you didn’t need to come. Grandma’s leaving right after the wedding.” 

Charlotte pressed her lips together and lowered her eyes before asking, “Has Grandma been happy these past few days?” 

Sebastian seemed to understand what she was thinking. He reached out to ruffle her hair and said gently, “Lottie, don’t overthink things.”
