The atmosphere in the room grew tense. Charlotte’s vision started to blur, the world spinning around her. She pinched her thigh hard to stay sober, forcing herself to hold on. But as the seconds ticked by, Arthur remained silent. 

Charlotte thought, “What does he mean by this? Say somet already.” 

“If you take off your mask, I’ll agree to your proposal” Just as Charlotte felt her consciousness slipping under the influence of the alcohol, Arthur’s voice broke the silence. His tone was deep lats, and tinged with a cold edge. 

Charlotte’s body trembled at his worth. The lower half of her face, unhidden by the mark, was already flushed red. She 

pressed her lips, her gate hay. “Mr. Harrison, I’ve already apologised, and I’ve shown my sincerity. Do you really have to push your back ke this?” 

Her worths shared slightly as she swayed on her feet, struggling to stay upright. “You’re the one with issiges, not me. If you don’t want to cooperate, that’s your problem. I… I’m tired. I’m going home to sleep” 

Charlotte clumsily grabbed the fragrance product from the 

table, stuffed it into her bag, and staggered toward the door. 

After taking a couple of unsteady steps, something occurred to 

ser. She turned back to look at Jayte. 

“Mr. Cakhwell, you’re such a nice guy. I’ll remember your

Arthur and Jayce silently watched as Charlotte fumbled around, needing several tries before she finally found the door. Arthur glanced at Jayce. “Was that a compliment or an insult?” It didn’t sound like a compliment. Jayce remained silent. 

Arthur chuckled, “Looks like that bottle of vodka didn’t teach 

her a lesson.” 

Jayce finally spoke up. “Arthur, don’t you think you’re taking this a bit far? You’re the one who needs her help.” 

Arthur stood up, his expression calm. “So what?” His tone wast light, but his words were dripping with arrogance. 

He thought, “Indeed, my insomnia is severe, and indeed, I need. Ms. Aroma’s fragrance products. But so what? I’d already given her an opportunity. If she couldn’t see the opportunity and keeps provoking me, then she has no one but herself to blame for my ruthlessness.” 

Jayce frowned but didn’t respond, sinking into silence once again. Arthur didn’t linger. He opened the door and left. Delia hesitated before speaking, “Mr. Caldwell, Mrs. Harrison seems pretty drunk. It could be dangerous for her to go home alone int that state.” 

“Oh.” Jayce’s response was devoid of emotion. Without another word, he walked off.
