Chapter 13: Mommy Loves You
Jasmine’s POV
“Mom, can I play in the living room?” David asks while I’m busy on my laptop. Diego has a business meeting out of the country, so I’m working from home. I just can’t leave my son with our Maid.
“Why? You can play here. Don’t worry. After I’m done with this, I’ll play with you,” I said and kissed him on his chicks. He pouted, and he’s so cute.
“But, I want to play in the living room, Mom. I promise I won’t go outside,” he said, hugging me. I hugged him back and messed his hair.
“Fine, you know I can’t resist you when you’re doing that. Just call me if you’re hungry or you need something, okay?” I said, and he nodded at me before going outside of our room.
I rest my back. I tried to forget him. I thought after those years, I would never see him again, but I was wrong. While David is growing, he looks like his father; he is like a carbon copy of him. He also had this attitude like him.
It’s hard to escape from that nightmare, and even from here, I always carry it. While I’m looking at my son, I always see his father—those eyes, nose, lips, and even his eyebrows. The way he acted sometimes, he really looked exactly like his father.
I wiped my tears; I couldn’t stop thinking, what if one day they would see each other? I don’t want that day to happen, but I know I can’t stop it.
I don’t want my son to see him because I know how ruthless he is, and I’m afraid that he will tell David that he doesn’t have a son like him. I don’t want my son to get hurt. I don’t want him to experience what I had experienced with his father.
I wouldn’t say I like that one day. That man would push David away and say in front of him that he doesn’t accept him as his son.
He and his family never liked me, and now I don’t have any news about them. I never bother to do so.
What is important now is my son, nothing else.
After I was done working, I went to check on David, but he was not in the living room.
“David? Where are you?” I called him, but he didn’t respond.
“Have you seen my son?” I asked one of the maids.
“He’s just been playing here a while ago, ma’am,” she answered, not knowing where David went.
I walked around and saw an open door. I was about to close that room when I heard Rustles. I thought it was some kind of mouse or what, but then when I entered, I saw David picking things inside the box.
“What are you doing here, baby?” I asked him, which made him look at me and smile.
It’s been a long time since this room was occupied. Our old stuff was stuck in here.
“Mommy, look what I found. “He extended his hand, showing a piece of paper.
