Chapter 19: I Thought You're Dead?

Jasmine's POV

I just wore a white dress and paired it with white sandals. It's simple yet Diego brought it for me.

“ I have to go now, take good care, okay? When I'm done I'll call you” I kissed David and bid goodbye to them. They are also preparing but I have to hurry because I'm getting late. I forgot to set an alarm clock since I slept late at night.

I used my car and drove to the meeting area. I looked at the time, and I was three minutes late. The client is waiting for me now.

It's not hard to find the place since I already knew the place around this city.

I park my car outside the big house though I'm not really familiar with who is waiting for me inside.

A maid saw me and let me in.

“ I'm looking for Ms Foster. Is she here? I have an appointment with her,” I said, and she smiled at me and excused herself to call her.

I just sat on the couch while waiting for him, while the other maids offered me juice.

“ Ms. Stewart,” I heard a woman's voice at my back. I gave my best smile and turned around to look at her but everything suddenly changed.

Stacy? What? I—I don't understand. Even she was surprised to see me, and she seemed like she saw a ghost in front of me.

“ Jasmine?!” She covered her mouth and couldn't believe that I was now in front of him. I fixed my posture. Her face suddenly got mad.

“ What are you doing here?! I thought you were dead?!” She exclaimed in this belief but I still looked at him like I didn't know her. I didn't come here to discuss the past. I'm here for business.

“ I'm sorry, I'm here for business and there's nothing to discuss about what happened in the past. “ I said, trying to control myself.

An image flashed in my mind when he pushed me that night, and I almost lost my baby. I still didn't forgive her for what he did but I also know that she was also surprised and didn't know about my relationship with that man.

“ Why are you here? Are you trying to ruin Travis and me?” She furrowed her eyebrows. I sigh, and I smile at her.

“ Past is past, Mrs. White, don't worry, I'm not here to make trouble. Mr. Jenkins is my business partner, and I was the one who is in charge of your wedding plan” I cleared my intention.

She still couldn't process everything.

“ But if you decide to stop this business meeting, then I have no choice. I'll just call Diego and tell him that it was cancelled, “ I said, and I was about to turn around when she stopped me.

“ Wait! I already told him and discussed everything with him. I just can't pull everything and start a new one. Just- All you have to do is your job Jasmine. And don't you ever dare try to make things worse or else I will make your life a living hell.” She said it while walking towards me.

Did she think that I am the old Jasmine who can't defend herself? Well, she's wrong. I will never let them hurt me again.
