Chapter 55: Grinning Widely

Jasmine's POV

After that night we actually went hiking near the place only. We had so much fun, and Brigette knows some of the guests here.

That's also my first time interacting with others. We still want to stay, but Diego received a call, and he needs them in the company.

We really planned to stay there for a couple of days, but I also have work to do.

“ We don't actually have the exact date for that, but since we succeeded in our plan I'll treat you guys tonight” I told them and they happily looked at each other's.

“ It's been days since I didn't drink,” Jacob said, talking to Ryan.

We're already done doing our work and we have time tonight to go to a restaurant and I'll treat them. Since they agreed to have some drinks then I didn't hesitate.

“ Let's go?” Erica said while getting all her stuff.

“ I'll help you with that,” Kurt initiated, carried Erica's files, and placed them in the drawer.

I even saw my team looking at them both and giggled. I just shook my head cause they were like teenagers.

We decided to go to the nearest restaurant here. When we arrived, they immediately ordered drinks.

They also started to grill sliced meat to eat.

“ How's your vacation, ma'am Jaz?” Ryan asked me. I placed food on my plate before answering him.

“ It's great. Actually, I'm also planning that we could have some activity like that, “ I told them. They were surprised. Maybe they were dreaming of having some free time together.

“ I'm looking forward to that,” Rhian said while eating. I even saw Kurt place food on Erica's plate, and Ryan started coughing while looking at the both of them playfully.

The rest were cheering them, which made Erica redden.

“ Are you two dating?” Ryan asked them. Erica looks at Kurt and asks for permission to tell us.

She shyly nodded and made them scream. We even caught others' attention here.

“ For real?! How long?” Rhian asked them, and we are waiting for their answer.

“ It's been Four months, “ Kurt answered. And their mouths opened. Maybe they didn't really expect that since they are still hiding it.

Erica kept on drinking her beer because of shy.

“ You mean you're still courting Erica?” Jacob asked him, and Kurt nodded and smiled broadly.

“ Yes, I am. But I’m not rushing her. I respect her decision, no matter what it is,” he said while looking into her eyes.

“ I'm not prohibiting relationships, but when it comes to work everyone must do their responsibilities “ I told them and they nodded.

I already have a feeling that there is something wrong with Erica and Kurt. He always bought her coffee and even gave her cooking or chocolates and flowers sometimes, though Erica kept on hiding it from us. I always notice it.

She bit her lips and looked away. As far as I know, Rhian hasn't had a boyfriend since then. That's why I knew this was new to her.

I remember when I was just like her. I was deeply in love. Even the simplest action touched me, and even his words gave me butterflies in my stomach.

He's my first and would be my last. I just love it, and that's my only mistake. Loving the wrong person.

I can't blame myself. The only thing I did was show him love. I didn't think of hurting someone's feelings. I even considered his actions—how he mistreated me, how he doesn't care about me even if I get hurt. I thought that was just a struggle in a relationship.

Just like what others are always saying. Relationships won't last without sacrifices, understanding, trust and love.

The way he always avoided me, when we were always fighting and having heated arguments, I thought that was only a part of the love that we had.

But I was wrong. I suffered from his false love and promises. I was blind with his words and I didn't even think of myself.

I just hope that Rhian, Jacob, Erica, and Kurt love stories that are different from mine.

It's true that relationships won't work if only one of you is fighting.

“ What can you say about what Jacob said, Rhian?” Kurt asked her, even glancing at Erica. They had always treated each other like this.
