Chapter 91: Unexpected

Jasmine's POV

I was invited to one of the billionaire's birthday parties. Mr. Chua. We've already met before in a business meeting abroad with his wife, Mrs. Amy Chua. They also participated in different charity events like Binaca and Clarkson.

They were really elegant. Though they are old, they are still managing their business. They even asked me to be the wife of their only son. They said that they really liked me for their son, but I politely rejected them.

Eric, their son, and I became good friends, too. It's been a while since we didn't saw each other.

I just chose to wear this black-fired dress that would literally show my curves. I am not showing off, but even if I eat a lot, I can't gain so much weight.

This colour also showed my skin tone. I let my hair hang in the air and put on simple yet expensive accessories.I also decided to pair this dress with my black heels. After that, I did my own makeup.

I just prepared for about an hour since I knew that all their guests were wealthy people.

I arrived at the party. As I entered, I could really see how elegant it was. One of the ladies guided me to my seat. When I arrived at the table, I saw someone familiar to me.

“ Eric?” I broadly smiled and offered my hand for a shake hand. I thought he was not gonna accept it, but he suddenly hugged me. I was surprised by what he did.

“ I'm glad to meet you again Ms. Stewart” his voice was full of happiness. I just tapped his back since I am not used to him hugging me.

“ I'm sorry; I am just happy to see you again. It's been two tears I guess” he chuckled. He's right. It's been two years since we met.

“ You are right, how are you? You've changed a lot” he offered me a seat.

“ I'm great. I am actually doing great,” he proudly said, which made me smile.

“ That's good. I didn't expect that Mr. And Mrs. Chua would still remember me. You know it's been two years,” I said, but he just chuckled.

“ Believe me if I say that you were the first person they thought of sending you a birthday invitation. “ He chuckled while someone was serving champagne to us.

“ Really? I didn't know that I am that important to them” I chuckled. The last time I remember, they even offered me something just to be with their son. Which I didn't accept. I was just wondering if still now they invited me to please marry their son again.

“ Don't worry; they won't force us to be together again, “ he laughed as the party was starting.

“ I was just-” I tried to talk to him when someone interrupted us. She's beautiful; she has long blond hair. She was wearing this expensive dress and jewellery while she placed her hand on Eric’s shoulder.

I already knew what she meant by that, but she smiled at me while I did the same and stood up to introduce myself.

“ Hi, I'm Jasmine. Mr. And Mrs. Chua‘s investor.” I told her. Her eyes widened, and she immediately accepted my hand.

“ Hi! I'm Glendale, Eric’s fiance. It's nice meeting you Jasmine” she said. Her mood changes quickly. She's cute and lovely too.

“ She's right, bro, and also, congratulations to both of you. “ He said, referring to Eric and Gina.

“ Oh. That's great. Well, who would not know someone like her? A well-known successful woman.” He chuckled.

“ That was too much description of me,” I laughed while I glared at Paul. I haven't talked to him since that day.

He thought that I would easily forget what he did. I am asking that jerk if it is okay with him that I'm engaged with Paul.

Damn him! I'm still mad at him right now.

“ By the way, we still have a lot of guests to entertain, “ he said to excuse themselves. I just nodded while Paul did the same. After they left, Paul looked at me, but I just rolled my eyes.

“ Are you mad?” Does he still have the guts to ask that question? Of course, I am! Who would not be right?!

I thought this guy was smart, but he can't even read a human's expression!

“ Will you stop causing trouble even just tonight? I just feel that whenever I'm with you, there will always be trouble coming,” I directly told him, but he just laughed. But when he turned around, he stopped and faked a cough.
