I was thankful that Christmas was over, it was one that I didn't want to remember that's for sure. My Dad wasn't happy with me after the events of Christmas Eve,so most of Christmas day was spent in unbearable silence.

Never one of us was willing to make the first move and talk to the other,I left the day after without so much as a goodbye. I'm just going to have to wait it out and see how long he's going to stay angry about this.

Today is New Year's Eve,but instead of going out and Celebrating the start of the new year I decided to stay at home and behave. I've already handed in my written resignation at Knight & Son,so my time needs to be focused on finding a new job.

I was curled up in my living room with a soppy Movie on the TV and a glass of wine by my side. Ryan had texted wanting to spend the New Year's eve together,but I turned him down and told him that I wasn't feeling well.

I'm going to end things with him,it's what I need to do after everything. He's a nice Guy and I like him,but I don't think we're right for each other. I didn't want to tell him on New Year which is why I'm avoiding him,so I'll meet him in a couple of days.

I'm not looking forward to it!!

I could hear the noise of Carmen's high heels on the floorboards,as she walked down the hallway and into our open concept living/Kitchen area. Tonight she's going out on a date for New Year.

She walked into the living room and struck a pose in the silver strapless dress that she was wearing."So give me the verdict. How do I look?"

My lips curved upwards."You look Hot! Didn't I tell you that dress would be perfect for tonight. That guy is going to love it."

"I think it would look a lot better on the person that owns it. It would be perfect with your tanned skin and dark hair."She winked at me."You should be wearing this dress out tonight-Not me!"

I picked up my wine glass."I have a bottle of wine to keep me company. I'm happy with staying in,I need to focus on finding myself a new job anyway."

Carmen sat down on the couch beside me and fixed the hem of her dress."Are you sure that you don't want to ask Mr Knight for your job back?"

"Positive!The damage is already done. I just hope he won't be cheeky enough to ask me to work a notice,I really don't want to do that."I turned my head in her direction when I heard the buzzer sound."That must be your date!"

"Right on time,He's keen! Happy New Year!"Carmen leaned in and gave me a hug,before standing from the couch and grabbing her things to leave.

"Have Fun tonight! I don't expect to see you until the morning."I smiled at her.

"Don't worry,you won't! See you in the morning."She walked out of the living room and down the hall towards the front door."There's a man here to see you,Hon. I'm going to let him in." Carmen shouted.

A man is here to see me-Who? Possibly my Dad decided to come and apologise for Christmas eve. Maybe Ryan decided to come by even though I told him not too.

I sat on the couch listening to the sound of his footsteps down the hall, getting closer and closer. When he walked into the living room and my heart started to pound in my chest."Fuck!"

A smirk appeared on his face."It's nice to see you to,Jamie."Mason was dressed in fitted trousers and a shirt that hugged his muscles. He was Hot enough to tease despite the fact that I was still raging with him.

I stood up from the couch surprised to see him."Mr Knight,What are you doing here in my Apartment?"

He sighed,and moved closer to me."You handed in your resignation. You didn't think that I was just going to let that happen,Did you,Jamie?"

I folded my arms across my chest,in an attempt to show strength. Even though I was anything but strong when I'm around him."I thought it was for the best given everything that happened."

Is he really here in my apartment on New Year's Eve just because I quit my job. He could be anywhere right now, with women that suited his ideal type of hair colour.

"I want you back-At work I mean. You Jamie Harris have been the best PA I've ever had and I need you."He held up the brown paper bag that he was holding."I brought some dinner,think of it as my way of apologising."

It was taking everything in me not to smile. Stupid I know! He's still an ass.

"Or maybe you could just say Sorry.."

Mason Knight walked closer to me and into my space. He moved a strand of my brunette hair back from my face and tucked it behind my ear."I'm sorry,Jamie. Now will you come back and work for me?"

"Say please?"I whispered.

He sighed,a little frustrated that I was pushing him."Please,Jamie."

Happy that I got the apology that I wanted and the amount of begging that I was satisfied with,I shrugged my shoulders."I don't know. I'll have to think about it."

"Alright,Maybe dinner will help change your mind."He handed me the brown take out bag,that had the amazing smell of salt and chilli spices wafting out of it. "Sit down,I'll grab us some plates from the kitchen."

Mason Knight brought me dinner and now he's sticking around to eat with me for a second time. It's on his terms just like it always is,the man likes to be in control so I better not argue with him.

I placed the paper bag on the coffee table in front of me and I sat down on the sofa. I was a little mortified that he was in my space and I was looking like a slob in my matching red pyjama top and shorts.

I was tidying myself up when Mason walked towards me,with plates and cutlery in one hand and a bottle of wine and a wine glass in the other. The wine was an immediate no from me,if I drink around him I won't be able to contain myself.

Mason set everything down on the table and sat down next to me on the couch. He turned his head in my direction and smirked."You're not uncomfortable about what you're wearing,Are you? You know that I like you in red so you don't need to be."

"Well I wasn't expecting company tonight,I was planning on staying home and spending the New Years alone."I opened the bottle and poured a drink for us both.
