"Is he going to Longfield, too?" Clara thought. It was understandable for her to be surprised. After all, the man did not fit in at all.

However, she did not think much about it. Seeing he was taking a nap, she quietly sat in the empty seat.

More people entered the bus, crowding the vehicle. Finally, the driver started the engine.

The bumpy ride and the smell of the bus made Clara feel a little nauseous. Soon, she dozed off. When the bus made a sharp turn, her head rested on the man's shoulder.

Alexander Sinclair's eyes flew open as a cold gardenia scent entered his nostrils. Turning his head, he frowned when he saw the woman resting her head on his shoulder.

He recognized Clara, and he wondered if she was following him. Disgusted, Alexander pushed her head away. "Get away."

Clara woke up with a start. When she heard Alexander's annoyed voice, she quickly glanced at him and realized what had happened. She thought he was rather fierce.

Looking away, Clara apologized, "Sorry." However, her voice sounded nasal because she had just woken up.

Alexander glanced at Clara's innocent face and snickered, his expression becoming more sour. He thought she behaved just like the woman he knew—equally annoying.

Alexander opened the window and crossed his arms, looking out without paying Clara any more attention.

Seeing he was in a bad mood, Clara said nothing else to avoid trouble. The cold wind soothed her nausea, making her feel more awake.

It took one and a half hours to reach Longfield. Once the door opened, people began getting off with their things.

Clara held on to her suitcase and followed the crowd out of the bus. Suddenly, someone bumped into her. As she was falling, someone from behind reached out and helped her up.

She turned around to find an honest-looking middle-aged man behind her.
