Clara's gaze lingered on the final sentence of the letter, her hands trembling slightly.

Wren had poured his heart out onto the paper, as though he had laid his soul bare.

This wasn't the Wren she knew. Her impression of him had always been of reservation and self-restraint. She never expected Wren to leave her a letter like this—one that stirred the still waters of her heart.

How could she not be moved? She was just an ordinary person among the masses. She too had emotions and desires and experienced joy and sorrow like anyone else.

Let alone the fact that this was the man she had loved for years.

Even though she had already chosen to let go and move on, her heart couldn't help but tremble when she learned that her feelings hadn't been unrequited all these years.
