Chapter 210
Alexander watched the figure disappear up the states and didn’t follow
He turned and left the hospital
The words Nina said last night kept Ryan awake, tossing and tuming. He had finally found a new target, so how could he possibly give up before even getting close? Clara was the most beautiful, most graceful girl Ryan had ever seen. There had even been a time when he thought that, if she were willing, he could have a future with her.
But Clara’s cold indifference to him was something he hadn’t anticipated. For the first time, Ryan felt the sting of failure.
That deep, bitter sense of not being able to have her only made him more obsessed with wanting her. It also made him regard her in a new light.
After all, what was the point of desiring something that came too easily?
A girl like Nina would willingly fall into his arms with just a wave of his hand. He never tumed down the easy ones, but deep down, he held no respect for them.
It was only Clara who stirred that strong desire for conquest in him. The more she avoided him and the less she even spared him a glance, the more he craved to possess her
This obsessionted into his fantasies, inflating his desires and even making him see Clara as more perfect than she perhaps truly was.
But now, Kina’s words had shattered his illusions about Clara. He was still unwilling to accept it.
So, Ryan drove back to the city early Saturday morning. He didn’t go home. Instead, he headed straight to his father’s office
The security guard recognized his car immediately and raised the barrier, allowing him to drive in
Ryan maneuvered his car with ease, parked, and walked inside. People passing by greeted him with smiles,
Ryan enjoyed the attention, but remembering his father’s advice, he feigned modesty and nodded back
He made his way to the third floor, heading straight to the largest office at the end of the hallway.
Just as he pushed open the door, the people inside looked up at the sound. When they saw it was him, the secretary quickly got up to greet him.
“Mr. Ryan, you must be here to see Mr. Frankdin, right? Why didn’t you give him a call beforehand? He’s out on business today and hasn’t returned yet.”
Ryan paused, glancing at the secretary. “My dad’s out? Didn’t he take you with him?”
