Chapter 34 

Melody had only one wish left ever since cheryl passed away, but she hadn’t written down her wish for this year yet. 

She took out a pen and a small slip of paper. 

She hesitated for a moment before writing, but eventually, she carefully penned it down. 

“I hope jeremy stays safe and happy. I hope I can hear again.” 

As soon as she finished writing, Melody pressed her lips together with slightly furrowed brows 

Was she being too greedy asking for two things? 

She lifted her pen again and struck out the second line and added, “I cnh have one wish.” 

She didn’t dare to ask for too much, clinging to the hope that sincerity would be enough to fulfill her wish. 

Melody didn’t sleep at all that night. By the time she got up the next morning, her head was spinning. 

Fortunately, she didn’t have to go to the hospital today. 

relida had texted her early in the morning to check in. 

“Are you feeling any better today?” 

Melody answered truthfully and said that she still couldn’t hear. 

“Are you sure you’ll be okay alone at home? Should I come pick you up? At least my house has a housekeeper who can look after you.” 

“It’s fine. I’ll just stay home today. I won’t go out,” Melody replied. 

Felicia asked, “What about Jeremy? You two live together, and he knows about your condition. Shouldn’t be at least do something?” 

Felicia had been Melody’s best friend for years. Their families had business ties too, so Telicia knew everything about Melody, especially the fact that she lived with Jeremy. 

Melody simply replied, “He’s on shift today. He’s busy ” 

Then, she put her phone down.

Melody froze for a moment before instinctively sending him a message. 

‘Aren’t you going to the hospital today?” 

Jeremy calmly set his book down. “I’m taking you to get your ears checked.” 

Melody was stunned. It wasn’t often that Jeremy showed concern for her. 

Her eyes brightened as she pressed her lips together. 

Lucidly, she hadn’t been greedy and wished for two things yesterday. 

However, she had misunderstood Jeremy’s intentions.
