As they lett, Seth pulled a candy from his pocket and handed it to Melody.

Jeremy glanced at the candy and casually asked, “Since when did you like sweets? 

Seth replied, “Many of my young patients cry during check–ups, i dalinle candy always helps to cheer them up.” 

Jeremy simply nodded and led Melody out

His brows furrowed. He didn’t understand why she was so scared. 

Melody suddenly lifted her face after sensing his gaze. Her eyes were red–rimmed, but her expression was dellant. 

Jeremy felt a small ing at his heart, like a tiny needle had pricked him. 

Just as he was about to speak, Andrew’s voice cut in, “Mel, I know you’re upset right now. Let’s go home and talk things though, okay? If you really don’t want to leave the hospital, we’ll see if there’s another solution.” 

He helplessly looked up at Jeremy after saying this. He then shook his head and added, “Jeremy, I’d appreciate it if you could talk to Dr. Tumer about Mel’s situation. If she returns to the hospital like this, I’m afraid she’ll just cause more trouble for you all,” 

Jeremy withdrew his gaze from Melody and nodded. “Tunderstand.” 

He turned to leave, but someone grabbed his sleeve before he could take a step. 

It was Melody. 

She had reached out on instinct. She didn’t want to go back with Andrew 

His so–called “talk” never meant anything. He always found excuses and reasons she couldn’t refuse to make her agree in the end. 

Melody could never bring herself to say no either. She didn’t even know how to because the Wardolf family had saved her. 

But this time, she inely couldn’t agree anymore. She tightly clutched Jeremy’s sleeve, her gaze a mix of defiance and despair 

There was no one else here, and only Jeremy could help ber, she wished that he would just take her away.
