Chapter 39 

Harold looked even more confused now. “What do you mean?” 

But instead of answering, Jerry asked, “Is Dr. Turner in?” 

Benson was the head of neurosurgery and a professor at Jembina School of Medicine. He had once been both Jeremy’s and Harold’s mentor 

“He’s in his office. I just came from there,” Harold replied. 

After that, Jeremy headed straight to the office. However, it was only to find Krystal there as well. 

Benson waved him over as soon as he saw him. “Jeremy, just in time. Take a look at this case.” 

To him, Jeremy was his most prized student. 

He then turned to Krystal and said, “You and Jeremy can go over this case together it’ll be useful for treating similar patients in the future.” 

But Jeremy spoke up and said, “I actually came for something else.” 

Benson didn’t lift his head as he replied, “What is it?” 

Krystal raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Do I need to step out?” 

Melody’s situation wasn’t something that just one person could decide. Even if it came up, it would require a collective discussion. 

Jeremy placed his phone on the table and slid it in front of Benson “Melody had her ears checked today, and this is her report. Seth conducted the examination. “According to him, she’s likely to experience the same issue again in the future.” 

As soon as Krystal heard this, her brows turrowed. “Then how is she supposed to work as a nurse? What are we expecting the patients to take care of her instead?” 

Melody waited the entire evening at home, but Jeremy never returned. 

Instead, she received a mouage from Felicia saying she was coming to pick her up. 

Melody didn’t want to trouble her, but Felicia had already arrived at her door before she could refuse. So, she had no choice but to open it. 

The moment the door swung open, Felicia pulled her into a tight hug. Then she asked, “still can’t hear?” 

Melody shook her head. 

Felicia sighed, placed a hand on Melody’s arm, and guided her to the car. 

Once they were inside, she finally said, “Jason’s back. He wanted to have dinner with you tonight, but I figured you wouldn’t want him to worry, so I told him you were working the night shirt” 

Apparently, Felicia had run into him once while he was away for training 

Melody quickdy nodded and sent Felicia a message. It read, “Don’t tell him my situation. We’ll meet up when I’m better.” 

She and Jason had both grown up in Green Moon Orphanage. The only difference was that the Wardolf family had adopted Melody while Jason remained in the orphanage

Felicia didn’t take Melody to eat at a restaurant because of her hearing condition. Instead, she brought her home and asked the housekeeper to make a pot of mushroom soup.
