Tessa was Jeremy’s patient, and her sudden collapse had prompted Caleb to call him back Immediately.
Jereine took the white coar Caleb handed him and slipped it on as he strode toward the wand.
Tessa was already in the late stages, and there was hardly any chance left of her survival. Plus, she had long made herchoice to let go.
By the time Jeremy finished handling the situation and stepped back out, Caleb asked, “How much time does she have?”
Jeremy’s expression remained unchanged. “I can’t say for sure,‘
Caleb sighed. “Then Ms. Wardoll needs to act fast. 11 Tessa Well, that accusation of leading patient information is never going to be cleared.”
Jeremy was in the middle of scrubbing his hands and suddenly paused. He turned to Caleb and asked, “Do you care about her that much?”
“Who doesn’t? The whole department’s been talking about it. Even Harold said we have to get to the bottom of this”
Krystal chimed in, “Why are you all so sure it wasn’t her? What if it really was?”
Caleb denied it without a second thought. “Impossible. We all know what kind of person Ms. Wardolf is, and she’d never do something like that.”
Krystal didn’t angor farther and let the question hang in the alc

Meanwhile, Melody had gone to a nearby barbeque restaurant with Felicia and Jason.
Jason had been in a foul mood ever since running into Jeremy, and his face had been stormy the entire way,
He had never liked jeremy, though they had only crossed paths a few times. And each time, it was always because of Melody.
He still seemed to be stearing over it even after they sat down. Finally, after a long silence, he muttered, “Bad.. Hr’tbad.”
It was evident to everyone who he was referring to.
Melody’s eyes fluttered slightly.
She didn’t know how to respond. She was usually good at finding excuses, especially when it came to Jerry. However, she had none this time.
Felicia cut in before the conversation tumed any more sour, “Weren’t you here to celebrate Mel’s birthday? Why are we bringing up things that kill the mood?”
Jason frowned. He thought things over before finally letting out a reluctant, “Mm.”
Always one to lighten the atmosphere, Felicia carried on looking through the menu before dramatically wailing, “Chinul How could you guys bring me to a barbeque restaurant?
“Did you forget? Pigs are my family! How could I possibly eat one of my own?”
Melody shot Felicia a glance and said in a low voice, “Didn’t you say last time that the smoked pork chops here are amazing?”
Felicia didn’t even blink. She declared with a grand wave of her hand, “And now you’re thinking of smoking them? Lord, have mercy!“.
The moon lightened instantly, and no one brought up Jeremy again.
As they ate, Jason handed Melody another gift–It was a lumbar support belt.
Felicia then seized the moment and tumed to Melody. “By the way, are you really up foçmodeling for my friend? If yes, then I’ll let her know.”
Melody firmly nodded. “Yeah, Imeanic”
“But won’t that be too exhausting for you?”
“Making money is never easy. I’m fine with it as long as it doesn’t interfere with my shifts”
“Money?” Jason looked up, clearly confused.
Melody saw no reason to hide it from them and pointed to her ear. “I plan to save money for surgery to get a cochlear implant.”
Jason immediately pulled out his bank card and placed it on the table. “I have money,”
Melody couldn’t help but laugh. “You just started your business, and you’re going to need that money for a lot of things.”
Felicia chimed in, “Forget his money. You can use mine. I’ve got plenty.”
But Melody still shook her head and said, “I’ll save up for it myself.” This was her own matter, and she didn’t want to bunden anyone else with it.
She would work hard, eam her own money, and she would hear again one day.
Upon seeing her insistence, Jason looked a little disappointed and reluctantly took his bank card back, but he still made sure to add, “Find me.. if you need it.”
Felicia sighed. “Honestly, you should be getting this money from the Wardolf family. it they hadn’t delayed your treatment back then, none of this would’ve happened
“And actually, Jeremy should be paying for it too. If it weren’t for him
Melady cut her off before she could finish, “I don’t need anything from anyone. Lean bundle it myself”
She had spent her entire childhood relying on others for money, and she knew exactly how painful that was. So, she wanted to do it on her own even if it took longe
She didn’t wast to owe anyone anything ever again.
Besides
Besides, she never blamed anyone for the accident that damaged her hearing.
It was her own fault..
Felicia was true to her word. After the meal, she contacted her friend right away and arranged for Melody to do a test shoot over the weekend.
it was already late by the time Melody got home. After spending the entire attemoon in the ICU, she was exhausted.
Her plan was simple–take a shower and then go straight to bed.
However, she hadn’t expected to find Jeremy already home.
The moment she stepped through the door, his cold voice rang out, “You’ll stay at a hotel for the next few days.”
