Willow didn’t stand up for herself immediately. There was a dazed expression on her face.
She stared blankly at Matthew. If she hadn’t seen it for herself, she would’ve never believed that Matthew could have such a blood–curdling look on his gentle face after their reunion.
In fact, that expression didn’t look out of place on him at all.
It was as if he had always treated her with such cruelty. The four years they had spent depended on one another seemed like a mere dream.
