Willow teared up uncontrollably. She shook her head lightly and said, “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Kenan beamed brightly when he heard that. “That’s great!”

When Wynn saw the bright smile on Kenan’s face, she knew that he had fallen head–over–heels in love with Willow. So when she looked at Willow, there was a look of adoration in her eyes, as though she was

looking at her daughter–in–law.

“Kenny, won’t you introduce us to this young lady?” 

“Oh, right. Everyone, this is Willow. I’m currently courting her.”

He then turned to face Willow and said, “Willow, this is Aunt Wynn. The one beside her is Mr. Carter, and the one sitting there looking like an iceberg is Eggy. The one beside Eggy is Cece.”

Eggy? Willow was astonished. She never expected Theodore Carter, the genius businessman, to have

such a cute nickname!

Perceiving her doubt, Kenan whispered into her ear, “Eggy’s name used to be Edward Yates. He might look like a gentleman now, but I’ll have you know, he’s brutal! He used to bully me a lot when we were

kids! He’s a mean one, I tell you!”

“Kenny Dawson! How dare you bad–mouth my brother? Do you have a death wish?” Celeste couldn’t take anyone saying anything bad about Theodore at all. She warned Kenan in a threatening manner, “Another word from you and I’ll make you regret the day you were born!”

Had it been any other day, Kenan would have gotten into an argument with Celeste right there and then. But with Willow there, he had to act all mature.

He lowered his voice and said, “Celeste, don’t you see my future wife here? Can’t you cut me some slack?”

Willow wanted to say that she and Kenan weren’t a couple, but she didn’t want to embarrass Kenan in front of so many people. So she quickly said, “Mr. Dawson’s a nice man.”

Once again, Celeste failed to stifle her laughter. She pinched Willow’s face teasingly and said, “So smooth to the touch! Kenny, you’re not child trafficking, are you?”

Had anyone else pinched her face, Willow would have been offended. But when it was Celeste doing it, she didn’t feel offended at all. Instead, she felt like they were now on much closer terms.
