Chapter 38
She had intended to appear graceful in front of Zayn, but why did she always end up embarrassing herself like this?
Kenan’s attention was focused on Skyler and Zayn, but he noticed Willow after hearing the sound.
Seeing Willow’s checks flushed with embarrassment, Kenan’s lighter slipped from his hand and clattered to the ground.
At that moment, he recalled a line of poetry-“Like a lotus flower shy under the cool breeze.”
He felt as though he might not have to remain single forever.
“Sorry, let me try again,” Willow said, reaching for the wine opener. Just as her hand touched it, a slightly calloused hand fell on top of hers.
Upon contact with Willow’s hand, Kenan froze in place as if electrified. He forgot to retract his hand because he was so overwhelmed with emotion.
“LL. I’ll help you,” Kenan, usually eloquent, stuttered for a while before managing to say a complete sentence.
Zayn’s expression grew even more grim at the sight of Kenan’s demeanor.
“No need, thanks” Willow quickly withdrew her hand and successfully opened the wine bottle this time.
Kenan’s gaze remained fixed on Willow, oblivious to everything around him. It felt like an eternity before he finally turned around and forcefully nudged Charles, sitting beside him.
“Charles, pinch me quick!”
“Are you crazy?” Charles glanced at him with disdain but still pinched his arm hard.
Despite the pain from Charles’s pinch, Kenan didn’t react with his usual outburst of anger. Instead, he laughed like a silly child.
“It’s not a dream, it’s real! I’m really in love!”
Heh! Willow suppressed her laugh.
