Zayn was briefly lost in thought. In that moment of reverie, he felt he had returned to those carefree days of youth.

A delicate young girl was nestled in his arms like a soft kitten. “Zayn, I really want to be your wife! Will you marry me?”

What did he say back then?

He had said yes. “I do! Willow, in this life, I only want you.”

But alas, the person had long since changed beyond recognition.

The girl he had longed to marry cruelly killed their child, hired thugs to break his legs and sought comfort in another man’s arms.

His vows were nothing but an unwavering commitment from him alone.

Why should he imprison his heart for a woman who had betrayed him so heartlessly?

“Zayn, don’t you want to marry me?” Skyler couldn’t help but feel nervous when Zayn left her question unanswered for so long 

“Zayn, it’s okay. I’ve said before, even if you don’t want to marry me, I won’t blame you…”

“Skyler, I will marry you!” Zayn interrupted Skyler’s words. “Skyler, next week, let’s get engaged!”

Engaged?

Skyler’s heart soared with joy. She hugged Zayn tightly around the neck and leaned in for a kiss,

Zayn stiffened and subtly avoided her. “Skyler, I’ll go start the car.”

Skyler felt a twinge of disappointment after being rejected again. But then she remembered that she was about to become Mrs. Carter and wo plenty of time to win him over.

With that, Kenan reached for Willow’s hand again.

“Mr. Dawson, I’ve been married before.”

Kenan’s hand froze in place, and after a brief moment of shock, he forced a smile. “Willow, what are you joking about? How old are you? Have graduated high school? You’re just a student, how could you be married?”
