“Can you go to my grave and sing me ‘Little Star‘ after I die?”

Willow put Aaron’s notebook back in the box hastily. Unable to suppress her emotions any longer, she pressed her hands against her lips and sobbed. She had found Matthew, but he was no longer the man who held Aaron gently in his arms and sang “Little Star” to him over and over again to lull him to sleep.

Willow knew she was going to humiliate herself if she went to Matthew. However, she still wanted to fulfill Aaron’s last will, even if it meant losing another finger. She’d get him to sing “Little Star” to Aaron in front of his grave.

She changed her clothes once she made up her mind. Grabbing her bag, she was about to leave for Mayer Tower to find Matthew. She saw Zayn the moment she opened her apartment door.

His faint stubble mirrored the weariness he carried, and the dark circles beneath his eyes were a telltale sign of his utter exhaustion.

Still, his chiseled features weren’t diminished. He exurled an air of sophistication the moment she laid eyes on him.

“Zayn, what are you doing here?”

Zayn stepped forward and grabbed Willow’s hand. “Willow, sorry. I”

“Ha!” Willow snickered, her smile cold and desolate.

He continued rambling on, “Willow, I couldn’t just stand by and let Skyler die. I could only choose her in that situation”

She glanced up at him slowly. The wound on her forehead had stopped bleeding, and it wasn’t obvious underneath her fringe. However, the grief on her face was jarring

Another apology. She thought it was absurd. Aaron fell from the cliff and was devoured by the beasts. He died a slow and painful death. Did Zayn think he could dismiss Aaron’s suffering and despair with just a casual apology?

Willow simply couldn’t be bothered. “Fuck off!” Her eyes were bloodshot as she shoved him aside. “Fuck off, Zayn! I don’t want to see you again for the rest of my life!”
