Greyven hummed before dropping Niamh’s hand. "Cyrene’s grades are so poor that I doubt it’d be possible for her to get a scholarship at this rate."

"W—well, it doesn’t mean she didn’t get it." Niamh tried to argue.

Merhold moved closer to her. "We’re not disputing that she got it. We want to know how she managed to do it."

"It was most likely a gift from one of her boyfriends. There’s no need to question me like this is some kind of interrogation. It’s just a darn bracelet for crying out loud." Niamh huffed in frustration.

Cyrus didn’t look convinced by what she was saying. "Alright then. I’m sure you won’t mind if we get a closer look at your bracelet then."

Just as he tried to reach for her hand, she pushed him away and ran past us as fast as she could in her heels.

"Stop her." Merhold growled.

Just as his men were about to start chasing her, Cyrus ordered them to stop. Merhold looked annoyed by this.

"She’s going to get away." He said angrily.

"Let her." Cyrus said in calm tone. "We already have this."

He pulled out his phone and showed us a photo of the bracelet. As he scrolled through, there were more and more high-definition photos of the bracelet he’d managed to take.

"I managed to get these without her catching on." He explained, putting his phone aside.

"We can show this to Elder Arthur. He’d definitely know what all this is about." I said, the excitement bleeding into my voice.

Cyrus nodded, a look of calm on his face. "That’s what I plan on doing."

"If we can find him, he’ll help us figure out what’s going on with this bracelet." I added.

Cyrus silently nodded again. Merhold looked calmer as he processed all we were saying. He finally let out a breath.

"In any case, keep me posted on whatever happens. I want a full update on how it went." He said.

"Yes, boss." Cyrus did a mock salute before turning to me.

With that, we began making our way towards the door. Cyrus opened the door only to find Evander already standing there.

"Evander." I said, unable to hold back the smile.

"Noted." Cyrus nodded.

We made our way to the car and went on our way to the Academy. As soon as we got there, I let out a breath I didn’t know I’d been holding.

As the driver looked for a good spot to park, I couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful architecture of the Academy. Whoever had done this left no stones unturned. Just as the engine of the car went off, my eyes landed on Froste. What he was doing here was something I didn’t understand.

He hadn’t seen me yet as his back was turned to me, but I’d recognize him any day. He seemed very anxious as he made his way towards the entrance. I stepped out of the car, unable to tear my gaze away from him.

Then he turned back, his eyes landing on me. It was brief but I felt a small tingle run down my spine. Without a word, he walked over to us.

He sent Cyrus a respectful nod before he turned back to me. "You’re here."

"Yes I am." I answered curtly.

"My wolf sensed you. That was how I knew you were in this place." He explained.

I nodded my head, silently processing what he’d said. His eyes raged with so many emotions that it was hard keeping track of most of it.
