A part of me was still curious to know what he was thinking. What thoughts raged through his mind as he stared at me. Did he still find me attractive? Did he still long for me?
That much was obvious judging by how there seemed to be stars in his eyes as he watched me. I turned to Eminence who was standing very close to Froste.
"Froste."
Cyrus came over to us. Although there was a smile on his face, he still stepped between me and Froste. There it was. The over protectiveness of a brother towards his little sister.
"Why are you here?" He asked Froste.
"I heard about Giselle being cursed. I came here to get the details about it." Froste answered, his eyes lingering on me briefly.
I didn’t know how to feel about him knowing all about the curse. The last person I wanted to hear about this curse now knew about something I’d thought would be at least kept within us.
Cyrus turned to me, a look of dissatisfaction on his face. I didn’t even need him to speak before I knew what he was thinking.
"It must have been them." He sighed.
"Who?" I asked, unable to hold back my curiosity.
"Greyven and Halven. They betrayed us." He answered, frustration bleeding into his voice.
"How do you know it’s them? It could have been anybody." I tried to rationalize my thoughts.
Cyrus shook his head. He seemed completely sure of the hunch he was making.
"It had to be them. They must have leaked the news to him."
Cyrus was still glaring daggers at Froste. To his credit, Froste had on a neutral expression and wasn’t antagonized by my brother’s disdain. I expected him to at least react some way but he was doing a pretty good job at keeping his cool.
My brother stepped closer to him. "I don’t know why you think you have a right to be here, but if you get in our way the slightest bit, I’ll make sure it’s the last thing you ever get to do in this Academy."
Froste simply nodded, his lips pressed shut. For a second, I thought it could be just a ruse. Surely he would say something pretty soon. However, I would only be disappointed as his silence ensued.
Cyrus glared at him once more, not bothering to hide his disdain. I’d always seen Cyrus as someone who kept a cool head most of the time but I never thought I’d have to see the day where he’d be so irritated.
Their tones were hushed but I could still make out bits of their conversation. Cyrus sounded angry; pissed to the core even.
"I can’t believe I didn’t know my sister was your Luna. What the actual hell is this?" Cyrus’s voice was laced with fury.
"I apologize for not telling you sooner." Froste sounded sincere as he apologized to my brother.
"I don’t give a fuck about your apology. After everything you put my sister through, you still want to waltz over here and act like you give a damn about her?" Cyrus scoffed.
"I do care about her," Froste repeated, "And I’ll keep showing it no matter how many times it takes."
Cyrus looked even more annoyed at Froste’s words. He leaned closer to Froste, his voice less audible and more dark than it had been before.
"You hurt my sister in any way, I’ll make sure you pay in the most painful way possible."
Froste swallowed before raising his eyes to meet my brothers’. He sent him a nod, his eyes holding a look of determination.
