“In whose world do you think you’re worth the price you scribbled here, huh?” She waved the paper a bit in anger. “Answer me!”
I let out a breath. She really was a handful. I wondered if my supervisor would be upset if I asked them to keep her out.
“The company allows itself to fill in commissions.” I said coolly. “It’s the price for itself.”
Tina looked dumbfounded. “T—That’s not how things are done.”
“Or maybe,” I paused, “You can’t afford it.”
Her face reddened with anger. “How dare you—”
“I’d suggest you leave the premises instead of causing such a scene.” I cut her off.
“Who do you think you are to start spouting all this bullshit? You think just because you work here now that it makes you any more of what you really are? We both know you’re nothing but a mistake.”
Tina glowered at me but I wasn’t moved. She’d have to do a lot more if she thought that would be enough to push my buttons.
“Leave the premises,” I continued, “While I’m still asking nicely.”
One of her ‘sisters’ glared at me. “Do you have any idea who Tina is?”
“Oh my goodness. I have absolutely no clue.” I pretended to shake my head in sadness.
The girl continued to speak, her voice dripping with arrogance. “She is the first lady of the second richest pack. Tina La Pierre is not someone you just talk to in any manner you deem.”
Tina was eating all this up but the girl wasn’t done yet. “Do you see her car? That car is worth ten million dollars, enough to pay you ten commissions for this pathetic job of yours. Do you think we can’t afford that?”
The Tina in question had a confident smirk on her face. They’d probably fed into all her delusions. I knew how much she loved being worshipped and praised by those around her.
I knew what she was hiding deep down. The car in question belonged to her brother, and not her. He had probably lent it to her as a way of showing his support.
Yet, here she was, spouting all the rubbish she possibly could with her entourage of pea-brained elves.
I let out a sigh. This was all too much drama for one morning. I needed a cup of coffee, something to keep me from pulling my hair out in frustration. I took a look at Tina’s car that was parked outside the building.
“Why would I bother driving out in such a cheap car?” I shook my head.
Tina’s face contorted into anger. One of her sisters put a hand on her shoulder, trying to get her to calm down. She turned to me, her eyes set into that of determination.
“And pray, where is your own car?”
“Over there.” I pointed to the spot where I had parked the car.
As soon as the hot liquid hit her, she let out a scream. I suppose that should have made me feel bad, but I was too angry to care.
One thing I would not tolerate was disrespect. Not to me, not to my brothers. I refused to let him get away with running her mouth as she pleased.
Tina was still screaming, trying to pry her eyes open. “You spilled coffee on me. Do you know what that means? I swear you’ll pay for this. Mark my words you will!”
“Nothing’s going to happen. Let’s be realistic.” I yawned.
“Oh you will. By the time I’m done with you, even your brothers will be begging me to release you.” She pointed at me, her face twisted into a nasty sneer.
“I have enough of that car to buy a 1000 bags on you.” I continued.
“Liar,” she scoffed, “I’m done entertaining your bullshit.”
She turned to the royal guards, about to call them, when the sound of footsteps approaching stopped her.
I turned to see Agnrs walking over. By the look on her face, she must have watched the whole thing unfold.
“That car right there is out of print. There’s only about three of them in the entire kingdom. It’s one of the most priceless cars you’ll ever see out there.”
