My hand went to my chest, resting on the place where I’d been healed by the moon potion. I wondered if the scar was still there. Most likely.

This was my one shot at getting my wolf back. I couldn’t mess this up.

The driver drove smoothly into the parking space of the Royal Academy. I couldn’t help but stare out the window at the tall buildings that seemed to touch the sky. To say it was beautiful would be giving it very little credit.

The driver parked the car and I proceeded to open it. Askhan was already waiting for me, a small smile on his face.

He’d already gotten a couple of attention. I noted some girls giggling when they saw him, hoping he’d notice them. Askhan didn’t look all that bothered by it as all his attention was focused on me.

“Welcome to the Royal Academy.” He spread his hands out.

“Thank you.” I laughed, holding my bag as we slowly walked.

“You’ll have to meet the Alpha Elders first and foremost. I’m sure you know that already.”

I hummed out a reply, letting him continue to speak. His mannerism was very high profile and sure enough, a lot of people were watching him.

It wasn’t everywhere the Royal Prince could go without garnering attention of some sort. Still, Askhan remained unfazed by it, more focused on whatever it is he wanted to say to me.

Just as we reached the doors that would lead into the school, Cyrus held out a hand. Had he been waiting for me too?

His gaze flickered at me briefly before he turned to Askhan. “I can’t let you past this point.”

Askhan looked annoyed. “I’m literally the Royal Prince.”

“Undisputed,” Cyrus said, “But I can’t let you past here. The Elders mean for Giselle to go past here by herself.”

Askhan looked like he was about to speak again, but I put a hand on his shoulder.

“It’s okay. I can do it myself.” I said to him.

He pondered on it for a while before nodding. Cyrus looked satisfied by this and he continued to regard me.

“Remember, you have to be honest in everything. The Elders can see into the souls of people. They’ll know if you try to lie.”

“Good day, Elder Arthur.” I bowed my head.

“You could just call me by my first name. There’s no need to add Elder or Teacher.”

I understood what he was saying but it didn’t make sense to add some sort of respect to his name. I couldn’t just go around calling him Arthur. He was an Elder. I had to at least accord him some sort of respect.

“Okay, Teacher.”

Arthur seemed to resign himself to it. “Alright then. I’d like to ask you a few things.”

“Of course, Teacher.” I replied, waiting for him to ask away.

He nodded, “Why did you become my student? Was it for some political gain or is there something you wish to achieve in the future?”

My mind went to Agnrs and her hypocrisy. Even now, I was still sure she believed that she was completely right.

“No,” I shook my head. “That’s not it at all.”
