Ryn's pov
His words left a pulsing need for something that was forbidden to me. And even though I had no clue of what he spoke of, it was pretty hot coming out of his mouth.
I rolled my eyes seeming to feign being annoyed at him but I was anything but. I scanned him over and noticed that he was still shirtless with only the black boxers on. I bit my lip and the action didn't go unnoticed.
His eyes quickly dilated and I swiftly averted my eyes somewhere else, my breathing coming in short puffs. This wasn't supposed to happen, I wasn't supposed to fall for his charms. But my body was deceiving me and I prayed that I wouldn't give into him so easily.
Without saying another word to him I quickly got out of the house. My feet almost tripped me in the process. My pace quickened until I reached my motorcycle and hopped on. It had seemed every time he left me hot and bothered I would run away just to avoid making things escalate.
I started the motorcycle and with one last glance at the house I drove off. Fifteen minutes later I had arrived at the station. I got off the motorcycle and swiftly passed my hands through my hair to fix it.
The sight of Nate rushing towards me had me utterly confused. He looked uneasy for some unknown reason and just by his tense body I knew something was up.
"Captain Stark is mad Ryn!" He rushed out panting when he reached beside me. I let out the breath I was holding in relief. I thought it was something worse than that.
I rolled my eyes. "Tell me when he isn't?" I asked sarcastically and began to advance to the huge building.
"He's furious at you Ryn, you're on roll call and you're basically late, he doesn't exactly take these things lightly." Nate elaborated in a rush to keep up with my fast pace. I came to a sudden halt and turned towards him.
"Like I told you I had an accident, didn't you notify him?" I asked annoyed, knowing that Stark would be at my throat the moment I walked into the building. The thought wasn't pleasing to say the least.
Nate nodded. "I did, but he wasn't having it."
I sighed, well better to get this over with. I resumed my walking with Nate following behind me. As soon as I had stepped foot into the building prying eyes were latched onto me.
I was used to it but there was something about today that made it uncomfortable at the moment. It was like they were accusing me of something. And at the moment I hoped they hadn't found out about Ace currently staying with me.
Liam, one of my comrades walked up to me. He looked uncomfortable as he stared at me. Now that got me more confused at everyone's sudden looks. Usually they only looked at me with lust and respect.
"Captain Stark is waiting for you in his office Ryn." Liam muttered. He then avoided my eyes as he briefly walked away from me.
I turned to look at Nate who shrugged at my questionable face. I chewed my bottom lip as I left him to go to Stark's office. I knocked on the door waiting for an answer on the other end.
I was about to give it a second knock when it opened up swiftly and I was faced with the infuriated Stark. His face was pink from rage and he certainly looked like a red truck about now.
"Get in!" He gritted out, stepping aside to let me in.
