Ryn's pov

I've been in my room sulking for the past five hours and I was grateful that I had already eaten, wouldn't want to get out the room in case I murder Ace.

He was really frustrating with all those sexual jokes. I admit that I wasn't all that mad when he gave them but upset that I couldn't give into my body's needs.

It's just been almost two days and he almost successfully made me let my guard down. Something I didn't plan on doing again anytime soon.

The television was still on and it blared through the small house. I was tempted to tell him to low it down but didn't want to face him as yet. I knew he was doing it to irritate me and I refuse to make him win.

I silently scoff as I scrolled through Facebook on my phone at seeing a picture of my ex-boyfriend that I had dated for like two days. I really didn't know what had gotten into me when I started dating him.

I tossed my phone beside me and looked at the ceiling. I was laying on the bed and I was feeling utterly exhausted. I should've been at work right now probably about to leave but under some circumstances I was now suspended.

It's been so long since I haven't been working twenty four seven trying to take down the Reeds. The ringing of my phone removed me from my thoughts and I quickly picked it up seeing that it was Nate who was calling.

"Ryn!" Nate greeted. He sounded like he was on the verge of having a breakdown.

"Nate, breath, calm down and tell me what's wrong." I said softly and sat up.

"I miss you and my day has been horrible. Captain Stark has informed me that José and I will be partners until you come back." He complains.

I bit my lips feeling a bit of sympathy for Nate. It wasn't a secret that José was a lousy cop and an even lousier partner. His last partner switched departments just to get away from him.

"Nate I understand how you're feeling right now but look, it won't be long until I come back and if José gives you any trouble or captain just go to papa Nathan. It's not like they can do you anything, you're the chief's son." I offered hoping to ease his mind. I hated using papa Nathan when anything goes bad but working with crooks had forced us to.

He sighs making me know he was now relaxed. "I'm just leaving the station want me to come and check you before my date tonight?" He asked. My heart quickened as the image of Nate seeing Ace in my house crossed my mind.

"N-no it's fine I'll see you tomorrow or when you're free." I stuttered and cleared my throat, shifting on the bed uncomfortably. I really didn't know how I'll be able to hide Ace from Nate when he usually comes unexpectedly to my house.

"Woah do you finally have a man at your home tonight Ryn? Are you finally going to pop that cherry of yours?" He laughs.

"Nate there better had not been people around you when you said that!" I hissed already embarrassed if someone heard him.

He laughs. "Chill I'm in my car, there's no one around, so relax your virgin ass."

"Nate if you were near me right now I'd sock you in the eye." I threatened.
