Ryn's pov
We all laughed at Nate's question including Ace. The next thirty minutes were filled with laughter and having Nate tease Marlie and Paul's relationship. While I avoided every possible question about Ace and I's relationship that Marlie seemed to be asking one after the other. I was praying that the dinner would be finished early and when it finally did I was internally rejoicing.
"Do you want me to wash the dishes?" I asked Marlie. It was only right that I'd at least help out when she had done all the cooking without assistance.
I got up, held my empty dirty plate and walked around the table to pick up Nate's and Ace's. My hands brushed his skin and I nearly dropped the plates when I felt an electric shock feeling just by us brushing against each other.
The feeling could only be described as a tingling sensation that was very pleasing and unexpected. But judging by the shocked look I was receiving from Ace, he must have felt exactly the same thing.
"Oh that would be great if you do." Marlie chirps and saunters to the kitchen area. I cleared my throat, looked at Ace one last time and followed after Marlie with the plates in hand.
I gently set the plates in the sink and opened the faucet. Marlie comes to stand beside me and hands me the bottle of liquid soap that I kindly took while thanking her.
"Do you want some help?" She asked as her eyes followed my movements. I looked around for a sponge I could use but right now I was failing to spot one.
I shook my head and let out a soft giggle. "No that's fine, go have a rest."
"Are you sure Ryn? I can help you know, my hands aren't cut." She says and hands me the sponge I had been looking for. I thanked her and started with the dishes.
"I'll help her Miss Smith, you go on ahead and rest." Ace's voice drifts through the small space. My heart jumps and a rush of excitement passes through me. I turn my head slightly to see that he was heading our way with a tiny smirk plastered on his face. I looked away from him and distracted myself with washing the dishes.
"Well if you say so, I better do go and check on Paul and Nate, God only knows what those two are bickering about now." She sighs and rolls her eyes. I laugh and she looks at Ace and I squinting.
"You two better behave whilst I'm not here, my kitchen isn't for baby making." She warns, walks away leaving me to stutter and Ace to laugh at my expense.
"Don't worry Marlie we'll be having a quickie." Ace yells after her as she disappears behind the wall.
The plate I held clattered down and I let out a gasp hoping it didn't break. I turned to Ace, glared and reached in the water to check if the plate had broken.
Ace's presence comes behind me and he purposely pushes his front to my back, holds my waist with one hand and reaches in the water the same time I did. Our hands brushes and I quickly retract my hands away.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?" I grit out as I turn around and using my wet hands pushed him away.
"I was trying to help?" He said but it came out more like a question, like he too didn't know what he was doing.
