When we arrived on the island, my jaw literally drop with the amazing feature of it. The perfect white sand meets the clear blue water, and from the distance was the luxurious-looking two-story penthouse.
“This is a paradise.” I can’t help but mutter.
“This is our family private resort, but that was too long ago.”
I took a short glance at him when I felt his mood suddenly change after saying that.
“I won’t doubt if this will cost a million.” I tried to divert the topic because it will be a bit awkward for both of us here.
“Yeah, it does.”
“Will you let me buy this someday?” I asked as I help the driver of the yacht, Mr.Kiko brings our things inside.
“Yeah sure, a 50 million will do.”
“That seemed too cheap for…”
“Dollars.” He cut me off.
“I’ll just build my own island.” I shot back and rolled my eyes at him as I walk inside the penthouse, if the exterior made me amazed, the interior give me chills with its fascinating design.
“Who designs this house?” I asked.
“My mom.” He plainly said before he lazily sat on the long couch.
“Woah where…”
“Stop asking will you?” He cut me off again as he quickly stands up and walk inside of a room.
“Did I say something wrong?” I asked Mr.Kiko when he was about to pass me by.
“There’s one word you should never mention here.”
That made me curious.
“What is it, Sir?” I asked.
“Any topic about his mother. Sir Achilles doesn’t want to talk about her, and I still remember that a cleaner of this penthouse has been fired because she tried to open up the topic about her mother.
“Is she dead?” I asked.
He shook his head.
“It’s not for me to tell, I love my job.” He chuckled. Despite the curiosity, I decided to not ask anymore. I don’t want to take risk someone else’s life just because of my curiosity.
“How long do you work for them?” I asked instead.
“Since Sir Achilles was young, I was the driver of their yacht. And they often stay here for a month of vacation, they were genuinely happy and a good example of a perfect family not until Sir Achilles’ mom left them and Mr.Aulus killed himself.”
My eyes slowly widen.
“W-what?” I asked if I heard it clearly.
“Mr.Kiko your family were waiting for you. It’s getting dark outside.” I was stunned for a moment when Achilles went out of the room, not wearing any top.
My brows automatically furrowed. What’s wrong with him? He owns a million dollars island and he can’t even buy a T-shirt for himself? How ironic.
“Oh, right. I’m sorry, I’ll be going. Enjoy your vacation here, just call me if you needed anything Sir Achilles.” Mr.Kiko bid his goodbye and quickly vanish from my sight. Did Achilles hear our conversation? I hope not. he won't fire him, right? He's been serving his family for a long time.
