Prologue: Being a father. novel Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties
[Ping! System reward: Host killed the ancient Mongoue serpent and gained 10 system gems!]
WOW! TEN?! THIS IS SO GREAT. BUT I DO WISH THAT SYSTEM GEMS ALSO COME LIKE THE POINTS. I MEAN, 200 SYSTEM GEMS FOR EACH TASK ETC.
He knew that he was being too greedy but he didn't care. If he had more than enough system gems, he wouldn't have to worry about anything anymore. Aside the occasional system beasts who would come to haunt him, he would have the world at his feet. He already knows impossible things he could do with a system gem. He was hungry for more!
"How do you feel?"
He turned to the girl seated next to him. Jada. He was turning the wheel, Jada sat next to him.
"Is that the first thing you should say?"
She retorted. He glanced at her. If Jada hadn't suddenly revealed her true form, she was really a beautiful girl with nice curves, upturned nose and fine lips. But does character foil beauty?
"Perhaps you should tell me."
He looked away from her. He wanted a distraction. He didn't want to be worried about what the impending danger would be. It was more scary that the danger would be on water.
And the perfect person for distraction was Claire. But at that moment, Claire was still boiling from earlier.
Jada was the next option after Claire. Plus the former was the closest person to him at the moment. The rest of the girls were settled in couches in the centre of the well furnished and extrinsic interior of the yacht.
Also, to use Jada as an escape was quite cruel of him and he knew that. She was carrying his child. The last thing he should do was use her for distraction. He knew that.
And he was trying to balance both; try to create a distraction and support her emotionally at the same time.
But it seemed like things weren't going the way he wanted. Jada wasn't helping things either?
He heard her grunt, throwing her glare to the front. The ocean was blue and clear. There was no ominous sound. The only thing heard was the whistling of dolphins in distance.
"I'm listening Jada."
He added.
"Is this how you treat your pregnant ---"
"Pregnant wife?"
He teased, smiling as he stole another gaze at her. Her face was squinted, her nose pushed up in a sneer.
"I'm not your wife!""
She shot bluntly.
"I'm just carrying your child."
She made clear.
"Fair enough."
He muttered, concentrating again. It was working. His mind was slowly gliding off the worries to the possibilities of losing some of the girls when he get back to Vegas.
A dark smirk swept across his face. There was a very interesting thought which had just zoomed past his mind.
"Every man I know would say sorry when they offend their woman... talk more of a pregnant one!!!"
There was rage in her tone. But Damien found it amusing.
"I thought you said you don't want to be my wife... that you are just carrying my baby!"
"Of course!!! did I take back my word?"
Damien noticed that she was getting worked up.
"No, you didn't. You were right."
Saying those words helped her calm down. Damien felt like he was starting to understand how to hold a conversation with a lady. And he was learning from one of the toughest girls.
"I'm just scared for the future of my baby."
OUR BABY, YOU MEAN.
He couldn't add those words. Not at the moment.
